Vehicle Detail

This is a no reserve auction for an all original 1966 Buick Wildcat 445 convertible with the 401 Nailhead 325hp engine and the automatic transmission. There were only 2690 of these cars produced. You can get 2 here. The red one is a GS. It is a rolling body. It can be used for parts or restored. It will need a lot of work. No drivetrain or back seat. If you need more photos to help you make a decision please let me know. I could only post 24. I have made every effort to show you everything. We are going to run a clean auction and no one with less than a feedback score of 10 will be allowed to bid without contacting me first. If you are a legitimate bidder this should not be a problem for you. We are offering a true barn find and only want to encounter serious bidders that can afford to pay what they bid. We are not going to tolerate any shill bidding by those wishing to drive up the price, scare away legitimate bidders, and ruin this auction. It costs money and time to list a vehicle on Ebay. Please pass this listing by if you are not serious. I am doing everything that I can to match this true barn find with the right person. Please bid with confidence and ask any questions that you have. Thanks for your patience and understanding legitimate bidders. I have been charged with offering a legitimate barn find vehicle to you for sale. They are only original once. The title to this Buick is free and clear. Inspections are welcomed and encouraged. If you want a $20,000-$35,000+ show car you should be prepared to recondition this jewel in the proper manner. I will honestly answer any and all questions that you ask. We have a collectible duo here. The family would like to get $7200 for this set. I have been charged with finding a new owner and I have the authority to sell the convertibles. With that said, if you know that you are willing to pay $7200 please let me know and we can set up the buy it now feature for you through Ebay. However, if no one is willing to pay this amount prior to someone bidding on this 1966 Buick Wildcat duo the family has agreed to let the high bidder have everything at the end of the auction. The convertible will be sold. The high bidder gets it all. You can buy it or bid. This Buick has patina if you want to cruise it like it is and it has a decent interior for comfort. It has been tucked away for about 13 years in Suwanee, GA. Prior to that it was driven in the spring and summer time. About 5 years ago new dual exhausts(it has a nice growl when you press the gas), brakes, and brake lines were replaced. When we pulled it out and examined it we found everything was ready to go except for the low brake fluid inside of the master cylinder. The old gas was drained and the fluids were checked and it runs really strong, great response, great shifting, and it pulls really good. The speedometer works properly and the mileage shows 31,822 miles. There is no 6th digit so that is probably 131,822 miles, but it responds like 31,822 is actual. The interior lights works. The car has power steering and a power antenna. Manual top that goes up and down easily. I am assuming it was manual because there is no evidence of cylinders or a pump ever being on this car. It can easily be converted to power with the addition of cylinders and a pump. The top is equipped to handle cylinders. It also has an accessory switch beside the power antenna switch.. The top fabric will need replacing. The GS has a power top. It is complete. The engine has plenty of power and there is no blow by smoke coming from the engine. It starts easily. It has good compression. The transmission shifts just the way it should shift with no slipping. The tires have been on the Buick for awhile. I have driven the Wildcat around and I am impressed with the power. I haven't detected any flat spots in the tires, but I have not driven over 55mph or got on the expressway. I really did want to stretch it out on the highway though and see what that Nailhead would do with the 4 barrel carb opened up. The tires look good, but please consider the fact that the tires have been on the car for at least 5 years before you try and drive it over 1-2 hours on a hot day. One of you can drive it as is, race your buddies, or start restoring it. It's up to you because I have a very nice starting point for you to consider. Please look at the photos. There are areas that will require some fabrication or repair if you want to keep all of the original body panels. There are rusted through areas that you could cut out and repair with good steel. That will be your call, but if you media blast these areas they will be fairly simple to repair with a basic mig or tig welder. You can grind the welds and make a good repair. The floor pans, trunk pan, outer rockers beneath the back of the lower door, lower rear of the fenders, and lower quarter panels. The back of the frame has some rust at the bottom of the frame underneath the trunk on both sides. That is right behind the rear wheels. Please see the photos. The rest of the frame is perfect. These areas can be cut out and repaired to factory specs with the most basic welding skills. Any experienced restorer will make a good unnoticeable repair. However, if you want to use the GS as a parts car it has a perfect frame. This is an unmolested vehicle ready for you and your families enjoyment or it is ready for your vision. They will need some restoration. I will assist you or your transporter at pickup. If you need to make two trips that will be fine also. I will work with you. A deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours after the auction ends via PayPal, Wal-Mart Money Center, bank wire transfer, etc. Vehicle can be stored for awhile if you need time to make arrangements for pickup. Please only bid if you can finish the transaction. This is a no reserve auction. Unmolested 1966 Buick Wildcat Convertibles. You can restore the right way. Strong running original 401 Nailhead engine with automatic transmission. New exhaust, brake lines, wheel cylinders, and it is complete. It needs restoration to be a really nice showcar. This will make a nice car. Thanks for your consideration. On Aug-17-16 at 07:40:48 PDT, seller added the following information: A fellow Ebay member recognized the red GS convertible. I am posting our email conversation for all to read. The Wildcat GS convertible is one of 198 built...it is a real GS....I use to own it years ago. So you owned this exact car? Cool. Any idea what happened to the drivetrain? Wow! Yes, I owned it from 1988 to 1992. I sold it to a guy in Pa but he kept it at an outside storage facility near me in Virginia. Apparently, he moved to France and sold everything. The car was towed out of storage in 2010...and it had the engine still in place. I recognized the car because of the painted "Old Wildcat" on the back panel....was like that when I bought it out of Kentucky.
