Great two owner car. NON Smoker, Well kept inside and out. Interior is probably an 8+ as the drivers and passenger front seats have been covered the majority of the miles. Exterior is probably a 7+ Tires are recent with less than 5,000 miles on them. List of service is available but just had new A/C in the last two months. Oil changed regularly between 3,000 to 5,000 miles. The mileage is listed at 251,500+ because it is a daily driver. The odometer was replaced at 148,267 with certified sticker on doorframe of drivers door. My son just got back from a 5,000 mile road trip from Florida to Santa Barbara California and back. Drives very well, very smooth and a joy to drive. The original factory roof rails were put on about a year or two ago for the first time as they had been stored and unused since 1996. We installed a new radio with remote for better sound. Hub caps are original and yes, the center caps are normal VW and they do like to fall off. Original owner placed a single stainless screw into the center of each one so that was nipped in the bud. Fuel economy is awesome up to 50 + MPG with out the roof rails on. With them on MPG drop by 10 to 15%.. Lot's of window space makes for great all around vision and light. So, the windows are tinted with 3M tint, Florida legal and custom front windshield sun screen also. The Good: well maintained in and out, fuel economy with 800+ miles per tank recent tires.The bad: The Cruise Control doesn't work, antenna, low profile, is average.The ugly: There is a paint issue on right rear bumper where someone hit the corner. There is broken foglight. Front passenger seat has small hole where jerk flicked his ash from outside car window. There are a few dent's and dings typical or less than so for a 20 year old car. Overall a more than great fuel sipper, can seat 4 or 5 adults and a ton of stuff, ready for the next 250,000 miles! Original owner is going to pull his log book and get back to me hopefully before he goes out of town. If not I will check with the dealership and see if they can pull it for me. If not the third time, it will be due soon. Thanks07/23/2016 Note of following updated items1) Spoke with previous owner. He changed timing belt 01/2007 at 125,000 miles with local mechanic. He changed it again 01/2011 at 162,000 miles at the local dealership who has done most all of the major items before and after the 2007 timing belt change. I am calling the dealership on Monday to see about getting a copy of the work if possible. Thanks
