Vehicle Detail

1971 Oldsmobile made to look like a Cutlass/442 W-30 Convertible being sold with "No Reserve" This Oldsmobile up for auction is the perfect classic droptop to enjoy the rest of the summer into the fall weather. If you have been looking for a beautifully freshly restored classic convertible that you can instantly become a fan favorite at the local car shows or use this sweet blue beauty as a daily driver then this rare convertible may have your name on it! You will certainly feel like the pride of the neighborhood driving this one around. These 1970's muscle cars have incredible investment potential, and have been referred to as rolling bank accounts. Remember, When the top goes down the price goes up! This incredible looking Oldsmobile convertible up for auction is a W-30 recreation. I'm sure all the real Olds guys out there know it is becoming increasingly harder and harder to find a Viking Blue 442 convertible with white stripes with each passing year. Everyone who knows these cars know this color and interior combination is one of the most popular and most desirable. This body was recently restored with a full gallon of code 26 Viking Blue paint with the white W-30 stripes buried in the clear coat. The body is near flawless and appears laser straight. I can't see any winning bidder having any disappointments with this one. This Rocket engine with the correct 39558 casting numbers for 1971 starts right up and drives down the road with delight. It's hard to keep a smile off of your face everywhere you drive. There are all new vacuum lines under the hood, so there won't be any leaks for many years of pleasurable cruising. The temperature sending unit was just replaced on the front of the intake manifold. A brand new coolant container was added to help keep this Rocket running cool. The chrome at the bottom of the windshield is brand new, and all the chrome around the windshield and the chrome pillar moldings, plus even the wiper arms were all professionally high speed polished and fantastic. The chrome at the fender edges by the windshield are brand new. Just about every spot on this car top to bottom was meticulously detailed. There were so many items replaced or refurbished to the highest standards it's really hard to list them all. I'm sure some items were forgotten, but I did my best to mention everything I could think of at the time of this description. The nice 442 grilles are correct genuine GM factory grilles. All the correct 442 and W-30 emblems are brand new. There is no feeling like looking out the window at those bold dual snorkel ram-air hood scoops with the top down rolling down the highway. The eyebrow trim on the front of the hood is brand new. The air cleaner was professionally sandblasted then coated with low gloss black engine enamel and the correct 442 decals installed at that time. The red front inner fender wells are like new and really add a nice touch to the time consuming work it took to detail under the hood. There is a brand new set of four wheel well opening moldings with a brand new front bumper, and a brand new rear cut-out bumper that has the infamous chrome trumpet exhaust tips running out the rear. This car sounds wicked to say the least. The convertible top is brand spanking new with the new back glass window portion as well. The new convertible top was just installed last week with new padding and a new well liner. All of the convertible top rubber gaskets were replaced at the time of the new convertible top. The vinyl on the top of the windshield was also professionally replaced at the time of the top installation. There is an original white California convertible top boot included in the trunk. That can be placed over the top when the top is down in the well. The doors still open and close like back in 1971 with all new rubber door gaskets. The window felts were even replaced to keep the outsides of the windows water tight. I tried to replace all of the factory decals including the blue manufacturers drivers door decal and all the factory decals for a W-30 model under the hood and trunk. The front and rear seats were professionally reupholstered, so they will be nice and comfortable for many years to come. The original dash pad is in very nice shape with an original AM radio still present, but not hooked up. This dash was never cut up like was typically done back in the day. This way if the new owner can find an original AM/FM it will fit right in the proper spot. The original owner's manual is included in the glove compartment. The carpeting on the bottom of the door panels were professionally replaced. The full front and rear carpeting is brand new with a brand new set of four black carpeted floor mats. The entire interior shows in very nice condition as seen in the pictures. The front and the rear floor pans were replaced with the correct aftermarket replacement panels, and the frame is in good solid condition. The options include power steering, power brakes, power convertible top, dual sport mirrors, Super Stock I sport wheels, sport steering wheel, and tinted glass. There is a brand new steering box and a brand new center link to allow this Olds to steer like new. The suspension looks and feels in very good condition. This Olds really sits up awesome with the proud stance of a 442. There is a set of four all chrome 14" inch Super Stock I wheels with a set of four brand new 225/R7014 Primewell Sport PS860 raised white lettered steel belted radial tires with chrome lug nuts and all four brand new bolt-on center caps. There is a 10-bolt rear-end, but I am unsure of the gear ratio. The original trunk floor had some repair, but was then coated with AC Delco black and aqua spatter spray to make it appear factory correct. The chrome around the back panel along where the top goes down is brand new. There is a brand new rubber gasket inside the trunk lip to seal up the trunk nice and tight. There was brand new chrome trim installed on the edge of the trunk lid after the new paint work. The trunk does carry a full size Super Stock I spare wheel with an original jack, jack stand, and crow bar. In the event of a flat tire that mishap can turn into a complete looking car again in a matter of minutes. The speedometer and odometer work properly and the gas gauge is accurate. The mileage is believed to be correct at just under 58,000 original miles according to the previous owner, but I have no way to verify that as factual. According to the OldsFaqs website that anyone can look up online only 1304 442 convertible models were made in 1971. What you see is exactly what you get! These mostly complete older classics that have survived for over 40 years are becoming harder and harder to find. Especially in Viking Blue!! This Olds is being sold with an open, clean, and clear title. The Nada Classic Car Price Guide currently has the 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 Convertible listed at $304,500 in high condition, which they consider an excellent overall vehicle that was completely restored, or an original vehicle showing very minimal wear. Note: This value does not represent a 100 point show car or a #1 vehicle. Those vehicles can reach much higher prices. $193,500 in average condition, which they consider in good overall condition that could be an older restoration or a well maintained original vehicle that is completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. They say an average condition car is considered a 20-Footer! As shown in the pictures I would consider this Olds Convertible currently valued in between the average and low condition, and could be rated much higher with some hard work. They have the lowest condition value at $143,625 being considered a deteriorated restoration or a very poor restoration, but mostly usable "As-Is!" The lowest value does not represent a parts car, but would be considered as the price for a car needing a complete restoration. These numbers are the current listed Nada values for a W-30 convertible! Nevertheless, This Viking Blue example is a very valuable automobile! I know those numbers sound outlandish, but if you go to any of the live auction websites for Mecum, RM auctions, or Barrett-Jackson you will witness for yourself what a real W-30 is capable of bringing in. This is a Lansing, Michigan built car just like where all the real W-30's were built back in the day. Why not enjoy the same looking convertible for a fraction of those prices. Basically this car looks spectacular to anyone who sees it. A great deal of time, money, and effort went into bringing this convertible back to its former glory. This car is for the guy or girl that used to have one back in high school and would like to relive their youth or prove to everyone at their high school reunion how cool they still are. It may just be the perfect car for someone who simply wants to treat themselves to a classic muscle car convertible and enjoy their money while it increases in value. This Oldsmobile is an investment that I believe will continue to rise as these cars have consistently shown to escalate in value each quarter. These GM A-Body muscle cars are the finest handling cars I have ever driven. There is no finer muscle car on the planet in my eyes than the 1970-1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass S, Cutlass Supreme, and 442 convertible. Here is a prime opportunity to acquire your dream car at a reasonable price. This car is being stored safely indoors out of the elements. The deposit will need to be paid within 24 hours, and the balance is due within 72 hours prior to the pick-up or transport of this muscle car. The title will be sent out the same day the funds are clear, or it will be kept in the glove compartment with the original owner's manual for transport. Whichever way the winning bidder decides. I know my descriptions can be a little long winded, but I try to list and accurately portray everything I can think of when I write a description. This way every potential bidder can make the most informed decision prior to placing their bid. If you feel I may have left anything out please ask as many questions as you like. I pride myself in answering every question in explicit detail with the utmost honesty. Ask questions and you will receive honest accurate answers. I'm a motivated seller, so this hard to find Viking Blue classic muscle car convertible is being offered at "No Reserve" on a 5-day listing, and will sell to the highest bidder at 5pm Pacific time, 7pm Central time, and 8pm Eastern time on Sunday evening. Thank You for taking the time to read and view my auction!!! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
