Vehicle Detail

1963 Corvette ConvertibleFactory Air-ConditioningOne of 58 documented 1963 Corvettes to have been built Please read the following carefully and if not familiar with these vehicles understand what you are bidding on!!!!! 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible S/N 21115, Built August 2nd 1963, Trim Code 898T. The options are- Factory Air-Conditioning (one of 58), Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Windows, AM/FM radio, PowerGlide, Leather Saddle Interior(Original). Factory Hard Top comes with the purchase This car has never been painted, wrecked, rebuilt, or cut-up. First the up front on the car, currently NOM 327 base 250 horsepower engine is installed. I have the unverified original date correct, broach mark correct, VIN and Assembly correct 327/300 horsepower engine that was part of the purchase from the second owner of the this vehicle. Completely overhauled and of course comes with the car. I say unverified because 53 years later I have only been a part of the vehicles life for a fraction of that time. I can't guarantee that the engine that was provided from the second owner is truly original. Some Corvette experts that live and breathe date coding and stampings say YES, others say NO. I welcome questions, discussion, visits to my garage if your NJ local to view and discuss, but I'm taking the conservative, honest road and saying unverified. This vehicle was stored for the last 30 years and purchased from a close personal friend and has been a Texas car it's whole life until I brought here to NJ. The frame, the kick-ups, and the entire car reflect that truth. I truly dislike the dishonesty in our hobby, I will not take part in anything regarding the representation of this vehicle that would contribute to that dishonesty, this is a straight, complete and rare 63 roadster that hasn't been fooled with and is ready for someone to take it to Top Flight if they desire. The situation behind the engine change was a misdiagnosis of a faulty modulator valveon the transmission causing the engine to smoke excessively when the car was about 5 years old.The replacement engine smoked the same as the original and then it was realized the engine smoke smelled different then the traditional engine oil smoke. It was then realized the engine wasn't the issue and the faulty modulator was replaced with no more smoke. I'm currently just getting the brakes to function strictly to be safe around my garage when I need to move it, I have just finished a 64 coupe purchased from the same family as this 63 and don't have time for a restoration of this vehicle. I will provide the pictures and welcome discussions or inspections, I have a lift in my garage and will to put it up for a complete inspection of the underbody. I will assist with, but will not ship!!! The vehicle is for sale locally and by word of mouth locally so I reserve the right to endthe auction at any time. Best of luck on the bidding it's a car with great potential!!!
