For sale is a rare sunroof-equipped tii, which has had a 5-speed conversion done (w/short-shifter), has the sought-after Recaro seats, a sport steering wheel, has had the bumpers converted from US- to Euro-version (to give it the appearance of a '74 tii in Europe), has an upgraded suspension (lowering springs, big sway bars, Bilstein shocks and struts), is being sold with a choice of wheels--either the Minilite wheels as shown or else stock steel wheels (see last photo to see what these wheels look like, and what this car can look like repainted in its current color), and has had the battery moved to the trunk. The car has been completely gone through and serviced so it runs GREAT. We have driven it on long trips, and it is very reliable, very tight, and a blast to drive. It's a great daily-driver as-is, so can be left alone and just enjoyed the way it is, or restored little by little as it's driven, or else completely torn-down and restored back to stock. To do that you would want to complete the metal work, the body work, and repaint it. The engine on this car is very healthy, yielding 180 psi of compression in all 4 cylinders, so we assume that it has been rebuilt before (also because the engine bay has been repainted, so the engine was pulled at some point), but don't have this documented. This is a numbers-matching car (the VIN matches the engine number), and the car is complete--with everything working except the sunroof, gas gauge, and odometer (which wasn't working when we got the car so correct mileage is unknown, and the seats & carpet had already been changed so we couldn't guess at the mileage either). Tiis with all the features this car has already (sunroof, 5-speed transmission, Euro bumpers, Recaros, upgraded suspension) are very hard to find. You would have to scour the world for a tii with a sunroof to start with, and then install all of these commonly sought-after features to get a car like this car already is--and that would cost you much more to do than it would cost to buy this car. If you want an upgraded tii, don't let this one get away.
