Vehicle Detail
2001 Dodge 2500 RAM, SLT, Cummins Turbo Diesel, 4X4, Long Bed (8ft), Automatic, Quad Cab with only 59K. A real diamond in the ruff! It's been sitting due to the past owner having a stroke... Needs some attention, but if you do the work your self, it could be fixed up very reasonable. As the pictures show, it has rust on the springs and some of the suspension. It has three main issues (a) front end needs to be rebuild, it’s all original and there is play in all the links, so it wants to wander in the lane. I drove it two hundred miles home with a camper on it, it’s not horrible, but it needs attention. (b) Anti Lock system need repair. When I drove it home the brakes worked fine (and do work OK) but at 10mph the Anti Lock pump would kick on. I had my mechanic check it out, and he concluded both front speed sensors need to be replaced. He also recommended Front rotors and brake pads. I had him remove the Anti Lock Pump fuse so now the brakes work fine, but the Anti Lock System is disconnected. (c) Body work, the truck was Ziebarted but my guess is the drain holes in the doors got clogged. Both doors need work and both side of the bed need paint work too, where the tackle boxes on the sides of the camper rubbed….. Interior is very nice but also dirty, but should clean up fine. The engine runs great, has an upgraded exhaust manifold and a 3 or 4 inch upgrade stainless steel exhaust pipe. The transmission has some kin of upgraded deep aluminum pan with cooling fins. The Tires were new last year and don’t even have a thousand miles on them…The truck really is nice, I bought it with every intention of doing these repairs. I had a buyer for my F-250, but that fell through and I can’t afford two trucks. I drove it home on the seller tags & insurance, but I never titled or tagged it. I have a Clear good signed NJ title it hand…. My estimate of repair for everything is $3000…… KBB says this truck all fixed in Good Condition is valued at $15K (Excellent $17K)……NADA says Clean Retail is $14K
