This 1968 Mustang is a great project car. I have owned the car since 2004 and do not know a lot about it prior to owning it. Here is what I have figured out: it is a San Jose built Mustang that was owned in Arizona prior to my owning it. I lived in Arizona with it until 2006 when I moved to central Texas. I moved to Florida in 2013 so it has not been in a heavy moisture environment for very long. It has the original engine (in-line six, 260 ci) and original transmission (three-speed manual). I believe the interior was installed by the previous owner. I ran into a guardrail in 2008 in Dallas, TX. The insurance totaled the car, but I bought it back and had the front end rebuilt. The engine was NOT damaged in this accident. In Spring of 2006 I had the entire suspension system rebuilt and then updated (bushings, etc.) in 2013. It has a new rear differential, new drive shaft. I have been told that the frame underneath is in very good condition for the year. Overall, this Mustang is in great shape. It needs a little aesthetic work to make it a really sweet-looking ride. I have enjoyed the car, but I have an expanding family and cannot afford to keep up with it anymore. I would love to sell it to someone who wants to fix it up and preserve for another 48 years.
