1966 Porsche 912 Karmann Coupe VIN# 453818. It is titled as a 66, but all the Porsche Books have it as a 1965. The original color is Aga Blue. This is a rare color, 5-guage 912 with a 5-speed transmission. The previous owner told me that “The Blue paint was all faded and I always wanted a yellow Porsche”. So, there you have it! This is a very solid almost rust free 912 with minimal rust, mainly on the passenger floor. Please see the photos. I bought the car almost 3 years ago, but it has not been driven much at all. I had planned to have it painted and to add to my early Porsche collection. And, I will do so, if it doesn’t sell. The existing paint has a good shine and is quite serviceable, if one isn’t in a hurry to get it back to the original color. However, it wasn’t done to a high standard. The body is solid, straight and has no signs of accidents or noticeable bodywork. The interior is in wonderful shape, with the original dash, Becker Mexico radio, the original Headliner and visors. The seats, the door panels are all great with just the right patina. I wouldn’t change a thing. You will want to put in new carpet and a take care of a couple of small details when it goes in for the re-paint. The car is in good mechanical condition. It runs and drives well. The 5-speed gearbox shifts flawlessly. The suspension (Koni front shocks) and the Brakes are perfectly functional. When I decided a month ago, to maybe list the 912, I took it to the shop to have it checked it out. The guys went through all the mechanicals and fixed as needed. it is fully tuned up, road worthy, ready to go. The receipt will be included with the car. I am a long-term PCA member. However, I am neither a mechanic nor an expert. I have tried to show the condition of the car to the best of my abilities. However, this car is 50 years old and is being sold “As is” and “Where is” with no warrantees expressed or implied. So, please do all your homework and research before you bid.
