Fast forward to 2016 and the Z/28 is still powered by its original, numbers matching 302ci DZ solid-lifter V8. Certified by renowned Camaro expert, Jerry MacNeish, this Z/28 has been authenticated that the engine, transmission and rear axle are the original units installed at the Chevrolet factory. Mr. MacNeish stated in his report that "Original Z/28s' are very hard to find in today's Camaro collector world", further enhancing this example's significance. General Motors and Chevrolet conservatively rated these engines at 290 horsepower, however the performance lends to a higher output number. It has been repainted in its original color of Fathom Green (correct to factory trim tag) and the White Parchment interior is in excellent condition. The Z/28 is nicely equipped with M21 close ratio 4-speed transmission, Hurst shifter, 12-bolt posi-traction rear end with 3.73 gears, power steering, power brakes, center console with gauges, chambered dual-exhaust and much more.
