Vehicle Detail
THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION I bought this bike from someone in Texas and the title is still in the guy's name from Texas with his signature on the back and I never signed it. So the title is ready for the next owner who decides to register it. I saw no need to register it until I had it running and then decide what I wanted to do with it. It had just under 17,224 miles on the odometer and it was used as a track bike. His brother blew the engine and so he decided to sell it as is. So I bought it about a year and a half ago and have taken my time building it to the bike you see. I bought a used engine with 10,000 miles and the guy I bought it from said the head was ported and polished and that it has a manual cam tensioner. I can see the cam tensioner ( check photo ) so that part is true. He said he knew the guy who owned the bike and he insured me that the work was in fact done. But he didn't get the receipt from him or he just didn't have it. I can't remember which to be honest, it was a year and a half ago. I've only ridden this bike for about 10 miles just to check it out after I got it back from New Haven Power Sports ( They did all the mechanical work ). It was pretty cold out so I just went up the highway to get a feel of how it ran. The bike is pretty fast that's for sure. UPDATE : I ended up taking this bike out for a real test ride last week. I went out for about an hour and found this bike to be pretty damn fast. It actually took me by surprise and I've owned a few CBR 1000 RR's. And with out even trying, one blip of the throttle it would power wheelie in first gear like it was nothing. I didn't want to try a second gear power wheelie since I was selling it. But it wouldn't surprise me if it would , and do it easily. I also took it up to triple digits and found the bike to be extremely stable at high speed and handle really well. I built this bike with the purpose so it could easily be taken to the track and switched into a track ready bike. And by switching just the two fairings in 20 min. or less you'd be ready to ride. You could ride it to the track and someone with a car could carry the fairings. Not everyone has a truck or the desire to load the bike to go to the track . The bike still needs a couple more safety wires for the track but that's about it. I built the bike to go back onto the street using CBR parts I've acquired after owning half a dozen or so. All the fairings (street & track) are fiberglass except the red street tail fairing, that's a OEM tail I painted. I painted almost all the red but the black was the original color of all the rest when I got them. The white and red & white stripes are vinyl that I did myself. Work Done at New Haven Motor Sports: Engine exchange with (used) engine 10,000 miles with port & polished head ( going with what I was told , No receipt for work ), NGK plugs (NEW), Motul 300V 10w/40 full Synthetic oil & K&N oil filter Change, Engine ICE, Flush and Fill brake & clutch lines, Block off plates (New), 15T front sprocket (New), Gel battery (New), Replaced the clutch cover because the other one had a few scratches on it and I already had another one, Replaced the fan because they removed the existing one for track use. Extra's The Two Race Fairing pieces Arrow slip on Exhaust CF Motorsports rear sets GP shift ( reverse shift 1 up 5 down ) 44T rear sprocket, 520 Gold EK 520 MVXZ chain Stainless Steel front, Rear brake & clutch lines ASV adjustable shorty levers I installed the Frame Sliders and Axle sliders with the bar ends with parts I had. Chain Adjusting blocks Modified rear brake reservoir for track use Lightech 1/4 turn gas cap Power Commander 3 Speedo Healer w/ last top speed recall button by gauge cluster GI Pro gear indicator Smoked Rear brake/tail light with integrated signal I think the only thing else I would recommend would be a custom Dyno tune. Especially, if in fact the head is ported and polished. That would bring the bike to it's full potential . I need a non-refundable $500 deposit at auction end within 48 hrs and the remainder in cash/cashiers check by 7 days. I won't release the bike until all funds are cleared or in my hand. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and fees.
