1972 280sel 4.5 one of the rare ones ! This was one of most expensive MERCEDES built in 1972 ! They only made 8,173 of these 280SEL 4.5 108.068 between 05/71--11/72 . The SEL was the long wheelbase model and was 4 inches longer than the SE models - think lots of rear seat legroom ! This car cost over $13,000 when new which was over $5000 more than the top line Cadillac El Dorado convertible ! This car is a #4 fair condition - daily driver car . It starts right up runs and drives fine - has working brakes etc. Has a very nice interior which was redone at some time . This car came from California but it does have some rust in some of the floor areas and trunk areas. Has some dings and dents as well . It is fine as is for a basic transportation but can be restored or used for parts as the parts on this car would bring well over the asking price ! I am in the vintage Mercedes part business but do not have time to fix this or time to take it apart as I have way way to many cars ! I also have a rare MERCEDES 1972 350SL a 72 280se 4.5 and a 1967 250se European sedan as well that I am selling off as I just do not have the time to deal with them .
