Selling our red with black/white interior 1993 Volkswagen Cabriolet "Karmann / Collector's Edition". The car is in great cosmetic shape and proper working order as you can see in the pictures and read in the description below. The good: - Four new (old stock) wheels installed last year with two new center pieces (the last ones I could find in all of Germany). - New black/white seat covers and matching interior trim with white stitching (shipped from a company in Germany) installed two years ago, still look like new. - New white handbrake/shifter boot. - New plush Lloyds floor mats front and rear last year. The original carpet underneath these mats is in very good shape too. - Replaced low beam headlights two years ago. - A/C professionally converted to R134a in 2013, re-filled a few days ago, blows cold. - Original convertible top. No holes, rips or tears. Watertight except for the occasional drop of water around the top of both A-pillars when it rains really hard. - Front power windows work. - Radio/cassette works, replaced rear speakers two years ago. - All instruments work with the exception of the water temp gauge (works intermittently). - Owner's Manual, Radio Manual and Maintenance Booklet included. - Two keys included. - I am also including a bluetooth cassette that you can pair with your smartphone to stream music to the radio. - Still getting 28+ mpg on the highway! The bad: - The paint looks great from 10ft away, but it has rock damage, scratches and some minor dents (see close up picture #22). - There is a small rust spot underneath the windshield (see close up picture #23). - When the engine is cold, it needs a little extra gas to not die. Idle is good after a few minutes of warm up. - The oil pressure LED sometimes blinks on when the engine is hot & idling. Seems to be a common issue with this motor. - There is a gasoline smell coming from the car after filling up (outside, not inside). Smell goes away after driving a couple of miles. This Cabriolet is 22+ years old and I'm sure that your mechanic will find other things to address. In general though I am not aware of any major mechanical or electrical problems. It has always been a very dependable vehicle, garaged, used for summer/leisure driving only, tucked away during winter. I have avoided driving it in the rain (did get caught twice though). Selling this only because I am running out of garage space & the wife won't let me buy another toy until this one is gone. Please ask any and all questions you have BEFORE bidding.
