Vehicle Detail
1968 Corvette Roadster V-8 Correct numbers 4 speed manual 82,600 miles Two tops I purchased this 1968 Corvette roadster in the fall of last year, with the intention of using it as my summer cruiser this coming summer. Unfortunately, we've decided that something with more room would be more desirable. Therefore, I am reluctantly forced to sell it. This car has a matching numbers 300 horse 327 and a 4 speed. The car spent most of its life in Oklahoma, and it shows, based on the cleanliness underneath. I believe the 82,000 miles o the odometer is correct, but I have no way of verifying this. I do know that the previous two owners, (one had it 13 years and the other over 20), drove the car very little. The person I purchased it from, who owned it 13 years, put less than 500 miles on during that time. The car runs and drives pretty well. Since I purchased it all of the vacuum hoses, (over 600 inches), which operate the headlights and wiper door, have been replaced. The wipers and all lights work very well. In addition, the Holley carburetor, (probably not stock), received both accelerator pumps. Also the brakes, which look new, were bled. All of the steering and suspension components and tires are in great shape. The body is also in great shape. I see no evidence of ever being in an accident. It has one small crack by the rear license plate area, (see photo). The paint is more than decent, with a few little chips and blemishes. The hardtop could use paint and the convertible top has a small one inch tear on the driver's side. It is otherwise ok. The rear window on the convertible top is somewhat yellowed. I was planning to have a black top installed. The interior is also in very nice condition, with no rips or cracks. It should be noted that this car was stolen sometime early in its life while it was in Oklahoma. The car was recovered and returned to the rightful owner. The state then issued a new VIN to the owner at that time. It now has a clear Wisconsin title in my name. The trim tag indicates that the car was yellow originally, but as you can see, it is now red. Whoever painted it did a fine job since there is no indication anywhere of yellow paint. Obvious non-original parts include the air filter, I believe the carb, (not sure), and the wheels, which I believe are late 70's, early eighties. Also, based on photos I've seen, the seats look more like 69's. I'm certain the Corvette experts out there could clarify all of that. In any case, I don't believe there is much to do, if anything, to make this a nice looking, very presentable, nice weather cruiser. If you have questions, or wish to set up an appointment to view the car, call me, (Ron) at 414-810-9316. Thanks and good luck bidding.
