Hi, I am selling my 1973 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL convertible. This is an 8 cylinder and it runs great. As far as I know I am the third owner of this car. It has been maintained well by my Certified Mercedes technician. Great features: The interior is in really great shape, the engine runs well, no knocking or ticking cam shaft problems, the engine runs smooth and blows clean smoke out the exhaust, great pickup and the transmission shifts nicely. Brakes and tires are solid and new battery and alternator. All the lights work on the interior and the dash. The car drives straight and its solid. Nice clean car. This car brings a lot of smiles to peoples faces. Things that you would expect a 40+ year old car to have: very slight oil leak which in the left side engine seal, this car needs to be driven! the paint looks aging and its not perfect, but looks fine at 10 feet. The radio does not work, I never fixed it, but it's the original radio! The left front turn signal light needs to be fixed, this is probably an easy fix, but its not the bulb. I just noticed it and wanted to mention it. Under the left wheel well their is a little rust, I bought some Por 15 just never got around to patching it. I don't have the hard top. Its in Tennessee and the prior owner said I can have it but I never got around to getting it. But, I'm selling without it. The soft top is in good shape, but the rear plastic window is faded and needs replacing. The AC has been upgraded to the new coolant, but the compressor does not work. I only drive the car on nice days with the top down, so it doesn't matter. This car is a classic and the Germans build them well. These cars only go up in value. I love the car, but I have no room for it anymore. I keep it in the garage and the garage is full. I have too many toys, and a baby on the way. I know its not easy to buy a car online.
