I am selling a very nice all original and low mile (~5270) Honda VF1000r Superbike / Interceptor. It is in original and unmolested condition. However, this bike has been sitting and needs a proper going through to be road worthy again. I am a dirt bike / single cylinder guy and I realized after I bought this that it was a bigger project than what I have time and interest in. I can organize transport to anywhere in the USA for around $450. That is fully enclosed and insured. Excludes Long Island, Florida keys and Maine, which is more expensive. Here are the details that I can tell you on the condition, and what I have observed. Feel free to look over the pics and ask your own questions: All original condition, have all misc stock parts that were removed (except OEM grips)Includes OEM factory Honda service manual California Pink slip in handHas Yosh slip on's mounted, stock ones are included OEM Stock windshield also in hand / good shape (has aftermarket mounted)Needs both rear turn signals replaced (front appear to be good) Bike does not appear to have ever been down. However fairings have some age / garage related damage that should be noted:Lower fairing has some scuff / cracks. See pics Upper fairing looks good Rear tail section has small section that looks like it was chewed by a dog in the corner. Pretty easy fix but see pics.Rear passenger seat cowl has a super small crack in it, but its probably not worth fixing. See pics. Gas tank is clean, no rust inside. Old fuel smells like - well, old fuelTank is in great shape on outside, no dents or issues to note. The Honda wing on the throttle side is slightly faded from the sun, but it is hard to notice unless it is pointed outNormal things from sitting need doing: Both tires need replacement - they are cracked and old but both hold air just fine Front brake needs rebuild, as it goes straight to bars and does not workBack brake works - but should be servicedCarbs need cleaningBike has good compressionCalifornia desert bike, so no major rust issues. Some bolts and misc fasteners have light corrosion, but frame/tank/wheels etc are all mostly all rust free and solid Both rider control switch (engine sw and turn signal / high low beam switches) are sun faded. not terribly, but worth noting. They still work and "click" as they should. Seat is not ripped or cracked Grips are old foam Grab On grips. They need replacement. Bar ends are original. I have not tried to start it. It does have compression. It should be properly gone through (all fluids changed and serviced) before anyone tries to run it. I was told by previous owner bike has been sitting for nearly 25 years. I am the third owner. Please note: This is a 31 year old motorcycle that is being sold as a clean original bike, however it is a project bike that needs some TLC. It is a great foundation to build on for someone that knows these 85 1000's. They are an amazing, cool looking bike. I make no warrantee of any kind and I am not an expert on the Honda v4's, but have done my best to describe it as well as I can. A clean, running condition bike like this is worth around $7000 all day long, and it wont take much to get this bike into the territory where it is worth that, and with fixing the things I have noted above.
