For Sale: Fully Restored 1961 VW Bus. I am the 3rd owner of this vehicle. The goal of this project was to restore everything to stock with a custom interior (original VW bus front seat with custom wrap around rear seat,wall panels, and headliner), bamboo hardwood floor and custom exterior color for that surf bus feel I grew up with. This bus was media blasted by local Denver company Blastech. All problem spots replaced with new metal from Wolfsburg West. All mechanical work and maintenance done by Painter's Grinding. All interior upholstery by Balls Deep Kustom Rods. Bodywork and Paint done by Ray&Sons Autobody. ENGINE:Brand NEW crate engine modified to 1915cc, chrome trim package, external oil cooler with fan, braided steel fuel line, fuel filters, electronic ignition, single carb., with new exhaust. No heat hooked up since it is a summer cruiser and mechanic recommended against adverse effect hooked up heat can pose to engine. All work including engine build done by local company Painter's Grinding. ELECTRICAL:12 volt upgrade with all new wiring harness, bulbs, light fixtures, lenses, battery, and electronic starter. TRANSMISSION:Original transmission upgraded to Freeway Flyer with new boots, new transmission/motor mounts, new bus shift rod coupler, original reduction boxes. All work including Transmission upgrade and reduction box service done by local company Painter's Grinding. All flushed and new fluid in both boxes and tranny. BRAKES:Drum brakes with all new lines throughout, new pads, new calipers, new master cylinder, new e-brake cable, new springs and original rotors machined. WHEELS:Original rims with all new hubcaps, restored hubcap holders, new paint, new whitewall tires ( includes spare). SUSPENSION:All shocks replaced with Bilstein Heavy Duty Shocks. EXTERIOR:All new glass, Safari fronts and pop outs on side. New rear window, New mirrors, and 100% new rubber seals throughout. Undercarriage media-blasted, etch primed and sprayed with rubberized undercoating. New horn. BODY:All questionable metal after media blast was cut out and replaced with sheet metal parts from Wolfsburg West. New nose clip, inner and outer rocker panels, nose panel lower skin, new front floor, new rear floor, both rear corners, both dog legs, jack supports. Undercarriage was self-etched primed and then sprayed with rubberized undercoating front to rear. This is a weekend cruiser so what little paint chips that have happened have been touched up as discovered (Very few) INTERIOR:Fatmat sound deadening every square inch inside, hardwood bamboo cargo floor with bamboo pole accents and palm leaf weave mat (from Forever Bamboo) for beach themed surfer vibe. Marine grade vinyl throughout on seats, wall panels, and headliner. Original speedometer overhauled: new bulbs, facelift, and reset to "0" for brand new engine by expert aircraft instrument restoration company. Steering wheel restoration includes new paint and original horn button. Dash was cut for larger radio, this restoration returned to a blank state to improve overall look of dash. NO RADIO... use Bluetooth speaker and phone for Internet radio and hands free. A lot of love went into this bus with NO cut corners. Included spare parts:-Extra window rubber-Safari wiper adapters-Wipers and arms (NEW -not installed -wiper motor works)-New fuel gauge and sender installed -(not able to dial in yet)-Extra wing window locks-Extra inside front door latch hardware-2 replacement panels of bamboo thatch for rear interior corners. THIS VEHICLE WAS RESTORED THEN DRIVEN AS A WEEKEND CRUISER ON WEEKENDS IN SUMMER,FOR 5 YEARS, FOR ROUGHLY 2700 MILES. Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of end of auction , and make arrangements for payment at that time. A NON-REFUNDABLE $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 3 days of Auction end. If no contact is made within 24 hours I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise.
