Vehicle Detail
2 owner, 1967 Toyota FJ40 (Land Cruiser). This is an awesome truck with very low miles. It was originally bought/owned by a company in Excelsior Township, Michigan. I bought it from the company owner in April of 2014. The odometer shows 23,200 miles which I was told, and believe, to be accurate. It was only used as a snowplow in a medium sized parking lot. In November, I disconnected the speedo cable to clean and repair the glass on the gauge cluster. I have not reconnected it, but it has hardly been driven...hence why I am selling:( This FJ40 is the original Spring Green. It had the original interior in it when I got it. All the original material on the front seats and rear jump seats (shown in one of the pics). I also found, under the seat, the original jack and the original tool roll with all of the tools in it (including the light that most people have never seen). I also have the original owner's manual. It is for all of these reasons that I believe the previous owner's story to be true about the mileage (and condition) of the truck. Everything is there, just as it came from Toyota with. As you can see in the pics, the floor is super solid. The only rust-through is in the normal places for FJ40's: rear corners and the inner, rear fender wells. There has been some repair to the rear sill and it is solid and looks well done. Because of the hole in the rear corner, the spare tire carrier is currently not on the truck, but I do have it and the mounts. There is a matching spare tire included. The frame is rock solid and so are the floor boards. The doors are perfect. The front fenders and fender wells are perfect. The hood and windshield frame are perfect. There is no rust at all in them. The dash has ALL of the knobs and no extra cutting has been done to it. I have COMPLETELY redone the interior. The seats are BEAUTIFUL! They are the same color as the original ones, but with a dark brown piping on them. They look great and are SO much more comfortable. All the foam in the seats are NEW. The hard top is in excellent condition. This FJ40 has a front and rear heater, with brand new hoses to both. Mechanically this FJ40 is in super shape. The engine has great compression and the transmission shifts like it is new. The linkage for the column shift is tight and very smooth. This cruiser starts and runs and drives extremely well. It does have the original, numbers matching, 1F engine in it. The carburetor is dialed in beautifully. It has a newer clutch, new clutch reservoir, new brake master cylinder, great tires, and newer brake work. It is currently only using the front brakes as the shipper who brought it to me from Michigan ripped the rear brake line. It is a cheap and easy fix. The brakes and wheel cylinders are all (4) new (about 1.5 years old). The exhaust is new and stainless steel. The 4x4 (4 wheel drive) works just as it should. All 5 tires have excellent tread and they are matching, as well. Please notice from the pics that all of the wiring in the engine compartment is original and not cut up or altered. The only thing under the hood that is not original is the brake fluid reservoir. It was machined for me to replace the old leaky one. While this is a really nice, vintage Land Cruiser, it is obviously not new and has no warranty. Please ask any/all questions BEFORE bidding. The buyer is responsible for ALL costs and arrangements to have this vehicle shipped to them.
