You're looking at a very nice example of an Iron Man Ivan Stewart pit truck. It's in remarkable condition over all, cosmetically it is in beautiful condition, and mechanically it is extremely sound, it should be, it only has 82,000 original miles on it. The truck has undergone a light refurbishment, it didn't need much in the way of mechanical, but everything has been inspected and repaired as needed. For example, the brakes had some pedal pulsation so the front hubs were disassembled, rotors turned, hubs were replaced completely with new grease, and new brake pads. There is enough meat on the rotors to be turned another time. Engine oil is new, and coolant is fresh as well. Major tune up just completed, new cap, rotor, and ngk plugs. Chassis was greased completely, and new tires were installed. Clutch was just completely gone through as well, not a bargain clutch job either, new fly wheel, pressure plate, disc, throw out bearing, pilot, clutch master, and slave cylinder gone through as well. The exhaust from the catalytic converter back has been replaced. No expense has been spared on this truck to keep it in top running condition. The one and only mechanical modification that has been done is a short throw shifter has been installed on the 5 speed transmission, it makes for some shorter tighter shifts over the much sloppier stock shifters. The truck still retains the original shifter nob, and stick so it's not a modification that's noticeable to the eye. The truck has never had any other mechanical mods like lift kits, oversized tires, or engine mods of any sort. In regards to the exterior appearance, the truck is painted the original color, and the red, orange, and yellow sections are vinyl, just like the trophy trucks were back in the 1980's, and today. Many of the decals on the truck are vintage 80's decals, and have some cosmetic blemishes because of that fact. The body is remarkably straight, although there are very minor dings and blemishes here and there. There is no rust on the truck, top or bottom. It is a California truck, and always has been so it's dry, and rock solid. There isn't anymore then extremely minor surface rust anywhere, only on chassis parts, and none on painted surfaces. Undercarriage was not detailed, and neither was the engine. All the glass is original, along with rear slider, the lock on rear slider actually works. The interior is remarkably original, and shows some light patina, but is still very beautiful. I had the arm rest on the top of the double high center console redone in new vinyl, and put in new floor mats. The carpet is pretty much perfect, and I still have one of the original floor mats that is excellent if you want it. Plastics are all in great shape, windows go up and down very nicely, and rubber trims exterior are great still, and original. Doors open, and close with an as new feel as well. I recently lubed all the locks, and the one key works everything. It's never had locks, or ignition cylinders changed out. If you want factory original workings, still beautiful, this IS your truck. The truck is quit amazing over all, and will not disappoint. Being an SR5 truck, it has the nicer trim, and gauges etc. This truck is also a factory option one year only straight axle rig with fuel injection. Only a smaller percentage of these trucks had the optional EFI, and this one being an extra cab short bed SR5 5 speed makes it the most desirable of them all. This truck in its fabulous original condition I would not hesitate to drive absolutely anywhere. It starts, stops, and drives beautifully. It leaks nothing, and gets more stairs then a Lamborghini.
