**** NO RESERVE !!! **** 1946 Custom Convertible. Nice fun car to drive on weekends and to car shows or just to the diner. I purchased this several years ago with the idea of doing a Carson hard top for it. The previous owner (two owners ago) did a very nice job converting a two-door sedan to a convertible. As far as I know it has been a west coast car (Arizona 2 owners and Oregon possibly before) It is very unique! Features Chevy small block V8 mounted up to original 3-speed manual transmission. You really don't want to drag race this combo because the engine is more than the transmission should handle, but for a easy cruiser, this is just fine. It does make an occasional chatter letting out the clutch, I am told that it just needs a simple shim. But it hasn't been a problem, and not all the time if you drive the clutch in and out easy. Make note that this is the old style 3-on-the-tree shift, which works fine. I have only put about 300 miles on it in the last two years. Mainly to and from car shows, but my time has kept me from even doing that. I just don't have the time for this and the three other car projects I have going on right now. My shop is overloaded, so I need to make space. The battery sits on a maintainer, and the gas has storage treatment in it. Brakes and suspension are stock, Speedo sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Engine starts and runs fine, but I would expect that you may want to give the carb an adjustment for your weather, it was last adjusted here in the summer at >100 degrees. Regardless, it drives nice, comfortable and fun top down summer time (or winter time here in the desert) cruiser. Interior is a leather seat set, possibly from a GM SUV or full size car. Nicely done, but is not new. Radio is in the glove box. Tires are like new, lots of tread. Good looking wheels. Full size spare in the trunk, along with the bolt in side windows screens for if you get caught in bad weather. Paint is decent, good looking flat paint, although it looks like it should get a real paint job, there have been some spots where the flat has aged. Body is really straight. I have been asked if it will make it across the country from Arizona to the east coast. Being this is an old car, I wouldn't want to do it without really checking everything out. But, I wouldn't hesitate to get in it right now and drive it 50 miles across town. I would plan to transport it if you do need to get it across country. What you see here is what you get. AS-IS, but it starts, drives, stops in style. Clear and current Arizona title. Winning bid to pay a NON-REFUNDABLE $500 deposit via paypal. After that you have 7 days from auction close to pay balance by cash in person, or certified bank check. When payment clears, I will overnight the signed title and other paperwork to you.
