Up for auction is my 1998 BMW 740iL. This car has been "my baby" for over 5 years. I am a BMW enthusiast and I have done many upgrades to this beautiful Bimmer. I will list below all of the upgrades... Sport lowering front and rear springs (I forgot the brand but they weren't cheap) Aftermarket 18" wheels with decent rubber Almost all 750iL interior upgrades plus some custom handmade wood veneer added that is not on ANY BMW's Custom two tone black and BMW "cinnamon" dyed seat and door inserts Real leather headliner Jaguar "picnic tables" in rear passenger compartment Custom iphone cradle in former ashtray compartment This 7 series has been a great car mechanicaly, I believe I have put about 5K miles on it since I bought it. The only reason I am selling it is that I am getting too many toys and I have run out of room to keep it out of the weather. I took it to a local car show last summer and placed 3rd in the import category (some "rice burners" placed 1 &2) The engine and transmission are in excellent shape and have given me no trouble. I had to replace the radiator and expansion tank right after I got it which is a common issue on these cars. All the power windows work and the rear privacy shade works properly. There are so many good things to point out on this car. I am an honest seller and would never try to cover anything up. I am going to point out some of the minor issues with this car. I tried to take some pics that would show the VERY MINOR hail damage that occurred a few years ago BUT it is so minor that they really didn't show up in the pics. As a matter of fact I won 3rd place in a recent show AFTER the hail damage occurred. The windshield also got a minor crack on the passenger side at some point (it does not leak and is not in the drivers line of sight). One side of the "kidney bean" hood inserts does not stay in real tight (cheap fix). The rear Quarter window shades are missing but the large window screens are excellent. The tensioner pully is making a little racket and should be replaced (cheap, easy fix). I replaced the front thrust arms a few years ago with aftermarket parts and I am noticing some "BMW shimmy" at about 50-60 mph again. The AC and climate control work great, The car rides and handles great with the sport springs and wide rubber, I put a brand new Duralast Gold battery correct for this car in it a few months ago. The power seats work properly and they are from a heated seat car BUT I have not hooked up the switches yet. I bought some switches and I believe a harness a few years ago and I can probably find them for the buyer. I also have a 97 740iL parts car that has heated seats so I can probably throw them in also. I have put a LOT of my time and money in this car and I realize that I will not get all of my $ back out of it. That's just the way these cars are and I accept that. I have enjoyed owning it but it is time to let someone else enjoy it.
