Up for auction is my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT 2wd with a third row seat. I purchased this vehicle from the original owner. I have the original window sticker and the clean carfax report that has all the maintenance records listed. This vehicle was very well maintained and taken care of. The explorer does have normal wear and tear. It also has scratches that come with age of a 14 year old vehicle. It has one light scuff on the rear driver side. It also has a scuff on the rear passenger side(please see pictures). These two were on the vehicle when I purchased it, The interior is in very good condition. The tires have about 85% thread left which makes them in very condition. The only thing that I can say is an issue would be the sound of the torque converter at low rpm. This was a common thing with this year model explorer,but there is nothing mechanically wrong with it as the transmission shifts perfect. The original owner had taken the explorer to the dealer when it was still under warranty(please see carfax to verify this) for this sound and they told her that they could replace the torque converter but the sound would be there because of the design of the torque converter. I just had the spark plugs replaced and the oil changed so it is ready to go. I recently drove it on 500 mile round trip and it drove great. This vehicle will not disappoint anyone who is looking for a good SUV with good maintenance records.
