Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1967 Mercury Cougar. Below is a list of parts that have been added since I bought the car last year, and what was installed when I purchased the car. The paint is about 10 years old, and is black with metallic burgundy on the corners of the body lines. I buffed out the paint in 3 stages, and looks really good. It does have some imperfections, including some body waves, and some small dings here and there, but overall, it's a great looking car! The interior is almost all factory, and is in really nice shape. Aftermarket interior items include the steering wheel, gauges, dash face, shifter, and hand brake. The front seats are not stock, but I think they came from a different year Cougar or possibly a Mustang. The Driver's seat bottom has a small hole in it, but you can't feel it when seated. The engine is a 351 Windsor. It starts right up, and runs VERY strong. It's got a nice street/strip roller cam that gives it a great sound at idle. Power is estimated around 550hp. The transmission is brand new from Performance Automatic. It is their Competition model, rated to 750hp, deep aluminum pan, and full manual reverse valve body. The torque converter is a TCI Breakaway. The differential is a 9" Detroit Locker with 3.89:1 gears. It has rack and pinion manual steering, and 4 wheel Wilwood power disc brakes. I've replaced nearly everything in the suspension, including the leaf springs and rear shocks, front coil springs and shocks, upper and lower control arms, inner and outer tie rods, and new ball joints. All of the lights, and wipers work. The car was originally an A/C car, but is no longer. The heater box was also removed. For about $1500, an aftermarket heater/air conditioner could be purchased and installed using the factory controls, but as it sits right now, it's a fair weather car. The sequential taillights work great thanks to a new electronic sequential unit, and the headlight covers work great as well thanks to new electric motors. I installed a fuse at the battery that supplies the car with power. It connects to a 4 gauge power cable that goes to a distribution block, which feeds fuse blocks. Everything that needs ignition power goes through an 80 amp relay, then to a fuse block. The whole car has new plumbing. The brake lines are all new stainless steel, the fuel line, transmission lines, radiator hoses, etc. are all new. My next goal was to get it into sheet metal repair. The front floor pans were replaced by the previous owner, but they were not done correctly. The car has a little rust here and there, as to be expected for a 48 year old car, but overall a very solid car. The doors open and close solidly, and the hood and trunk open and close the way they should. I have all receipts for the extensive list of new parts that I bought over the past year, totaling over $13,000. New Parts; Electric headlight cover motors High and low horns B&M transmission cooler Griffin aluminum radiator Aluminum fan shroud w/ dual 12" electric fans (thermostatically and manually controlled) Moroso radiator recovery tank Optima Red Top battery Aluminum battery mount Power Master 160amp alternator Edelbrock Performer Air Gap intake w/ dual quad Edelbrock carburetors Billet Specialties air cleaners Ford Racing valve covers MSD distributor Ford Racing spark plug wires Autolite racing spark plugs Hooker Competition ceramic headers Magnaflow stainless steel exhaust Performance Automatic Competition C4 transmission TCI Breakaway torque converter Power brake booster Master cylinder Stainless steel brake lines throughout Wilwood front disc brakes Wilwood rear disc brake conversion w/ parking drum brake Lokar handbrake Cooper Cobra rear tires 295/50-15 Gorilla wheel lock system Wheel center caps Fiberglass Eliminator hood scoop Front and rear suspension Auto Meter speedometer, tachometer, fuel, water temp, oil pressure, and volt gauges Scott Drake Corso Feroce steering wheel, horn button, and mount Kick panels and sill panels Rhodes Racing fuel cell Holley red electric fuel pump Electronic sequential taillight box Rear bumper --- and lots and lots of small stuff! Existing Aftermarket Parts; MSD 6A ignition MSD Blaster coil B&M Megashifter Center Line Convo Pro rims Cooper Cobra front tires 215/60-15 Total Control rack and pinion Heavy duty export brace for shock towers (not the cheap flimsy one) I don't have the exact specifications for the engine. I know it's a 351 Windsor stroked to 396, full roller (roller camshaft, lifters, and roller rockers), and it was built using all high quality parts. It has World Heads, a Scat crankshaft with H-Beam rods. Not many expenses were spared building this car. It's got plenty of power, and runs and drives great. A true American Muscle Car! I will help in arranging shipping, however, shipping is not provided, and is not included in the price of the car. I have a clear title ready to go. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks for looking!
