Up for sale is my 1965 Oldsmobile Starfire. She has: The original 425 big block 4 barrel 370 HP engine.The original warrenty book and PROTECT - O - PLATEThe original Auto TransmittionThe original rear endThe original interior. The drivers seat shows wear but is still in decent shape.The original Conv top. It is in poor condition. A brand new top of the line conv top (Black) comes with the car. The milage states 11,000. I would think that means 111,000. The car recently passed a NYS inspection. The car is registered/Ins and driven often The cars runs great! Hit the gas and the tires break loose!The top goes up and down with no issues.All the electric windows work properly.The tires are in very good condition.The radio works fine.The wipers work.The tach works fine. The body is a classic 25 footer. She has some dings and rust spots. This is not a show car but isn't a parts car either. I think it's a really fun weekend cruiser. The car is in overall good condition. It can be driven and enjoyed as is or restored to a high dollar desirable 1960's muscle car. Will consider trades for C3 corvette. Thanks for looking. On Nov-24-15 at 16:00:55 PST, seller added the following information: Up for sale today we have a spectacular cruise night car if there ever was one... a 1965 Oldsmobile Starfire convertible! Quite rare in any year, this last editiom of the Starfire ragtop saw production amount to only a little over 2200! In comparison, Chevy made 75,000 Impala convertibles in '65. This is not your father's Oldsmobile! Leather bucket seats, console with tach, and 425 cubic inches of Olds big block packing 370 horse power make you remember muscle wasn't always in a small to mid-size package. A positraction rear , dual exhausts, and a turbo 400 Transmission complete the performance end of things. A great runner that you can hop in tomorrow and go for ice cream, or anywhere else your heart desires. Here are some details on this cool cruiser:Mechanical: As mentioned, equipped with the Olds 425 ci V8. Exceptionally powerful! No shortage of vigor here... almost brings out the tire-spinning kid in me! Starts and runs well. No odd noises, smoke, or leaks. Dual exhaust has a minor leak or two... a little louder than maybe she should be, but she's got muscle mixed with luxury anyway. Stops well, tires have plenty of tread, and rides smoothly down the road. Shows 11,000 on the odometer... obviously 111k, but has held up well. Aftermarket holley carb installed by the previous owner, but have original Rochester if interested. Fuel gauge is inoperative... needs a sending unit. Master cylinder was converted to a dual setup for safety... very nice if you've ever had a single pot system leak out on you! Brand new battery and starter installed this past spring.Body: An older repaint in her original white. Still very shiny. Has one spot worth mentioning on her right quarter (see pics). Floors and frame seem solid. Hood has some touch-ups at the leading edge that are hard to see in the pics. Chrome and trim are nice driver quality, but do have some creative patchwork. Rear bumper has been damaged, but I do have another that's in somewhat better shape I'll include with the sale. The square opening in the quarter is where the exhaust was designed to exit. I have the Starfire-specific exhaust tips that pass through this opening and their seals. Top works but is a little slow on the uptake. Top cover needs to be redone. I do have a brand new top with correct glass window that is included with the sale at no additional charge.Interior: All original leather buckets in baby blue... how '60's can you get? Interior is in very nice shape, especially for a droptop. Leather on the driver's bucket has some minor cracking and vinyl side bolster is torn, but other than that there really is nothing to complain about. Original carpet with Starfire only sewn in "mats" still there and looks great! Even has the original top boot and storage bag. Equipped with power windows, driver seat, and tilt wheel,She's not perfect, but you'd be hard pressed to find another. There is still plenty of great weather left to ride this unique and rare convertible around before snow flies! Also have original owners and top manuals, plus the "protecto-plate". Transferable registration in hand, and also has a current New York state inspection.
