Vehicle Detail
I have had this Suburban as a company car for about 6 years and it has been a solid driver with lots of power. It has always been enjoyable to drive and very safe. It has the towing package with a brake controller and add-on extender mirrors that come with it. There is no body rust and just typical minor surface rust on the under body frame. Other than some minor parking dings and scrapes it has no body damage or has any body repairs that I know of. I just don't have a need for it anymore as we have a new van and I don't need an occasional towing vehicle anymore. We had originally purchased two of these diesels and converted the other one into a WVO vehicle which worked great and the reason we purchased the Diesel Surburbans originally. On the positive side, for a diesel it is relatively low milage for these vehicles, and the body and frame are in very good shape for its age. Since they only made diesel suburbans for about 3-4 years, they are pretty rare and sought after especially for WVO conversions and tought to find one that has not been abused or neglected. It also had an upgraded Alpine stereo system with an pre-amps in the rear and larger speakers in the back door which I don't use, and upgraded alloy wheels. It has been regularly cared for and maintained. However, it does need some things that should be looked at by the future owner. One is that it is now switching back from 2WD to 4WD and I am told by the mechanic that there is wiring short in a connector under the car that is the issue but should be a relatively easy fix as the 4WD mechanics and all differential fluids were just worked on last year. It hesitated a couple of weeks ago so I had it looked at and I'm told the fuel injection pump controller is showing some errors even though I replaced it 3 years ago. There is small crack in the dash top. A/C the last couple of months has been weak so it could most likely use a recharge, and the paint on the hood is cracking and peeling even though the rest of the body's paint is good for its age. So while these Diesel Suburbans are sought after being pretty rare, and this is a daily driver that has been cared for, it is a 16 year old truck and while a good example still is a 16 year old truck so govern yourself accordingly and only bid if you serious about completing the deal and owning this vehicle. Very reasonable reserve.
