Vehicle Detail
I have a true barn find 1968 Coronet R/T with its number matching 440 engine and 727 trans. This is an early 68 built - unmolested/unmodified classic Mopar parked in 1979 and left to rot into the ground. Has original steel wheels with hubcaps (2 off the car), as sold from the factory. Originally a redline tire car with 11" drums. This would be a very challenging restoration project without a donor body. The lower body panels, rockers, frame rails, and floors are rotten. The roof, firewall, upper quarters, cowl, radiator core support are straight and not rusted. I put a cleaner flat hood and deck lid on the car. Fender tag and build sheet still intact and Michigan title in my name. Body numbers match. I tried to rotate the engine, but can't access the crank dampener bolt with the fan and shroud in place. No water in the oil. A true time capsule. Original power bulge hood and decent tail panel available for purchase after the sale. Parts are worth more than the car. If you had to buy these OEM Mopar parts you would most likely spend: $2500 complete number match 68 440HP motor and trans $500 big block radiator with rare steel fan shroud $250 8 3/4" rear with 3.23 open gears (car matched) $500 clean flat hood and decent deck lid $500 bucket seats with tracks and rear seat $750 uncracked console and complete 150 mph dash $200 all glass $300 all chrome trim $500 R/T grille, tail panel trim, and interior R/T door emblems $400 roof and firewall $300 HD suspension, k frame, driveshaft $100 bumper brackets $250 misc linkage, accesories, heater box, headliner bows, door panels, etc. $250 floor shift steering column and uncracked steering wheel $200 four 14" wheels with Premium hub capsHinges, doors, springs, and much more.
