Up for sale is a 2002 Ford Explorer SportTrac 4WD. Vin # 1FMZU77E52UB00494 with 187,874 miles on it. My wife bought the truck new and it has been adult driven, non smoked in, and up until the past couple years, well maintained. When we got our 2012 explorer, to go along with 2 Harleys then this truck just sat, and sat, and sat. It now needs a lot of work to make a daily driver. The engine is strong and runs well through entire rpm range, transmission also seems to still be ok. The 4WD/hi/lo selector switch engages well with no issues. The tires still have plenty of tread left on them and are in good shape. Except for a handling issue discussed in next paragraph, the truck drives well. Interior is very clean and truck was used for daily commuting. Here is what it needs 1) Front left swaybar broken, that may be the culprit in the handling issue which is when truck makes a swerving right turn the entire front end wobbles and then I have to slow down off throttle for it to stop. Or it might need balljoints, I am not sure, swaybar def broken 2) No A/C, it worked last year 3) drivers side window does not go down straight, it pops out of groove, passenger windows slow to go up and down 4) rear left door inside passenger door handle broken, passenger door lock broken right side 5) Switch in steering column, in order to get the truck to start sometimes I have to push up on the steering column shifter into "P" quite hard several times repeatedly to engage what I am guessing is some kind of switch 6.) ABS light stays on when driving, this just started last couple weeks along with, drum roll please, 7) No power steering, this may coincide with the fresh fluid under front right of truck recently on driveway . 8) passenger wiper broken 9) truck bed cover locks broken, I have to pull a broken piece of wire to unlock the bed cover 10) left side drivers speaker inop, aftermarket radio, 11) might need pads and rotors , no pulse in pedal yet its just been about 60,000 since I remember having them changed out. 12) I am sure fluids need attention/changed But other than all that, its fine.
