Vehicle Detail
***No Reserve*** Highest Bidder wins!! A true No-Reserve Auction !!! You're looking at a 1977 Lotus Eclat Elite 521, right-hand drive project car. The odometer reads 98,522 (actual mileage unknown). The tires are old and need to be replaced but they do hold air. It has the original spare. The wheels were polished at one time and need to be polished again. The body is good with some imperfections. It looks like it was originally orange but the paint is faded red now. It's missing some black body side trim and there are some stress cracks in the front and rear bumpers. The driver side mirror is broken and the door is hard to open because the door handle is broken. Sometimes you have to go inside the passenger side to open the driver door from the inside. The emergency brake works and the car rolls and steers easy. All the glass is good. The power windows don't work(??). The tail light lenses and parking light lenses are in good shape. The headlights go up and down with the switch in the dash. I cleaned it up the best I could. I pressure washed the car underneath and under the hood. The seats are not ripped. The back seats are faded on the tops. The dash pad is faded but is not cracked. The door panels are not warped, but someone put wood grain contact paper on them that is bubbled and peeling. The carpet on the console needs to be replaced. The front floor carpet is missing and the headliner needs to be redone. It has a Pioneer stereo and amp but I couldn't get them to work. The windshield wiper works and all the gauges work, even the tachometer. Unfortunately the people I got it from kept the English license plates. Trim plate under the hood is stamped: Unit No. 77 010319DAlt Unit no. Type 76Engine No. DC 7770113396 The stamped engine number matches the car. The clutch does not work, I don't know why. Everything is there for the clutch and hooked up, but it may need a slave cylinder, but I'm not sure. I drained the fuel tank and put new gas in it. It has a new fuel pump and new rubber straps to hold the exhaust up. One muffler needs to be replaced. The battery is not included. It looks like the valve covers were polished at one time. I cleaned up the points and rotor and put new fuel line near the carburetors, hooked up a battery and fuel pump and it started right up. It runs fine, no smoke, no noises, no knocks. Check out the video of the motor running. I am sure it could use a fresh tune up and eventually maybe carburetor rebuilds. I have a clean California title in my name. If you need more information (a walk around description) or more specific pictures, you can email me or call me, Mike, at (760) 519-3478. You're also more than welcome to come look at the car. To sum it up, this is a project. I am not familiar with Lotuses at all. It seems to run fine. The underside is not rusty. From what I've read, it's a rare car and a good restoration project car. I also have a very nice original 1974 AMC Javelin up for auction this week! Check it out! This vehicle is being sold as is with no implied warranty. If I have not had contact from the winning bidder within three days of the end of the auction, I will assume you are a non-paying bidder and will proceed through the ebay steps accordingly. Payment is to be paid in full within 7 business days of the end of the auction and pickup within 10 days of the end of the auction unless other arrangements are agreed upon. If you are an overseas buyer, I do have a car trailer and can transport the car to an export company for $300. On Nov-14-15 at 08:01:22 PST, seller added the following information: As far as a smog certificate for this car, please look into your state requirements. I will not be providing a smog certificate with the car. It may pass smog and it may not. As I stated, it will probably need a tune up and the carbs rebuilt/adjusted. The car was obviously built to be driven in Europe as it is right-hand drive and the license plate area is for a Euro plate so I don't know if it has any smog/emission equipment on it or if it is needed. Please look into this before you bid.
