Vehicle Detail

1973 Ford Bronco Sport. 302 V8 Automatic Factory Dealer Installed A/C Power Steering. I've had this Bronco since the Mid 90's, I bought it from my brother who had purchased it in the 80's from the original owner who owned the NAPA store in Fort Valley, Ga. The truck is very original, and shows about 25,000 miles on the clock. Add 100,000,.It is wearing it's original brown and white paint. It has some rust in the inner fenders, and rockers. All repair panels and patch pamels are readily available. The glass is all in very good shape with the exception of the windshield, which has a small chip at the rear view mount area on the inside surface. What looks like cloudy windows is actually old window tint. Stock hubcaps, stock AM radio, never had the dash or fenders cut. So I decided to drive the truck to a local car show 3 weeks ago. The carb was leaking, so I cleaned it out and put a kit in it. Then it stopped getting fuel to the carb, so I replaced the fuel pump. That took 3 tries because I wanted the 'correct' large diaphragm fuel pump (Airtex 6588) and all the parts house carry Chinese crap small body pumps. Once started I drove it out of the shop and when for the brakes...TO THE FLOOR! I replaced the master cylinder with a new unit, then replaced all the wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and most all the hardware with new. While under the truck bleeding the brakes, I noticed a water drip. The water pump had gone bad. I bought a new one and installed it. as well as a freeze plug. I also replaced the power steering pump some years ago, but it did not come with a pulley. At that time I couldn't find a replacement. Now they are readily available. So, new pump, new pressure hose, no pulley or belt. So now I remember why parked the truck in 2002. The truck had leaking wheel cylinders and a leaking water pump. I was broke, had just moved to Texas, and had lots of youthful energy and plans for a full restoration. Today I'm still broke, have no energy, and I'm old. Clear Texas title in my name, no crash history cause it's never been crashed. The bad? It could use a full restoration. The good? It's all there, and with a good tune-up, new tires, and a full fluid change, could be a daily driver or patina show truck.
