2009 Volkswagen Tiguan SE 4Motion (Candy White). Interior of car is Sandstone Cloth. Car was purchased for my daughter and she was the primary user. She just moved to Manhattan and does not need a car there. Seats are cloth material but my daughter had them covered the entire time she used the car (see pictures). Car was garaged the entire time my daughter was in high school. Same is true for her freshman year in college as we did not let her take the car to school. We let her begin taking the car back and forth to/from college in her sophomore year provided she kept her grades up. While at college, the car was not garaged but she did have an assigned parking space at her apartment. Whenever she came back home (school breaks, holidays, summers, etc.) the car was garaged again. Car is titled in my wife's name and there have been no other owners. It has been the "perfect" first car for a female her age. It has all of the latest safety features for a car that was built that year. Because it is German made, the engineering and quality you would expect is clearly visible. Additionally, the car has plenty of storage space (great for college kids) and just enough creature comforts (heated seats, CD player, ports for iPhone, power windows and door locks, etc.). Volkswagen did a great job with this car. It's a 4-cylinder engine so it gets good gas mileage around town and it has a turbo-charger so there is incredible pick-up and speed for the highways and longer trips. It has 200 horsepower just to give you an idea of the speed. There are some door "dings" which is pretty normal for high school and college kids. We had them repaired once and within 6 months the exact same "dings" were in the exact same places. We decided not to get them fixed again. NOTE: THIS CAR HAS VERY LOW MILEAGE FOR IT'S MODEL YEAR. NORMAL MILEAGE FOR THIS CAR WOULD BE IN THE RANGE OF 80,000 MILES. THE REASONS FOR THE LOW MILEAGE ARE REFERENCED ABOVE BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT IT WASN'T DRIVEN VERY FAR. IT WAS DRIVEN OFTEN ENOUGH, JUST NOT VERY FAR. I believe we replaced the brakes and rotors once and we also replaced all 4 tires, so the tires are fairly new. My recollection is that oil changes were done every 5,000 miles but I can check repair records to be sure. Oil used was premium synthetic. We never cut corners on service and we never would. Most, if not all, service was performed at the dealership where we bought the car. The warranty on the car has expired (I believe it was 3-years or 36,000 miles). We have not had any issues with the car's performance and handling at all. It runs great!
