Vehicle Detail
1940 Chevy Truck This truck was found on a farm in Northern California. Although the body was in great shape, the frame had been cracked and repaired numerous times from a hard life. We decided to drop this bad ass truck on a blasted and Painted S-10 Chassis. The weak 4 cylinder was replaced by a 350 Turbo 400 combo. The 350 is cooled by an aluminum radiator and has Petronix electronic ignition. The Turbo 400 is shifted by a Lokar Shifter. All power steering, power brake and suspension components were either replaced or rebuilt. The front was lowered 2.5" and the rear was lowered 4". Since it was designed to be a daily driver, a static drop was chosen over Air Ride. This truck may look like it just rolled off the farm, but it handles like a modern truck. The body speaks for itself. We tried to leave as much of the original patina that we could. Right down to the broken tail light, and the bullet hole in the passenger side windshield! The engine side covers are in good shape and included in sale. The front bumper is stock, but the rear bumper is from a 1952 Chevy car and has been narrowed and flipped. There is filler in the drivers side cab corner, but no other signs of rust. Its amazing how good of shape the body's in for being 75 years old. The interior has a Mexican blanket over new 3" foam, along with a new steering column and removable wheel. The floor is reclaimed barn wood over aluminum. Although the speedo isn't working, it has a fuel, oil, water temp and volt meter. The windshield cranks in and out like it should. Door glass is cracked, but the regulators are there. The gun racks were there when we got it. It would look great with an old double barreled shotgun! The battery has been relocated under the bed floor, which is also reclaimed barn wood. New 15x8 wheels and 235/60/15 tires. No rubbing even at full turn. This truck snaps necks and bruises egos wherever it goes!If you're in the area, and would like to check it out, please contact me.
