Vehicle Detail
Here is an example of a very nice 65 Galaxie. VIN: 5-D-69-Z-1241705: Model Year 1965D: Dallas Plant69: Body Code, 500 XL 2 Door Convertible Bucket SeatsZ: Motor Code, 390 CU IN See more pictures and videos here:https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pv4s9jlbzp0xu1h/AABeKJXCno397nLYr5qp97q6a?dl=0Original Wimbledon White Paint Color. Old records show it might have had some repainting prior to our 1994 purchase - Paint is fair, see pics. Not show quality, but looks good from 10 ft. No rust, but lots of cracking and a few chips. Black interior: Interior is in good shape. Only issues: small rip in passengers side seat, the faux wood trim stickers are discolored. I have a couple extra trim pieces I will include in the sale. Carpet and back seat are great. The center console tray is cracked which is common on these cars. Black Convertible top (plastic back window) is in great shape, so I think it may have been replaced. See pictures. 390 V8 - runs strong, idles no problem. All original except for an aftermarket 4 barrel Hollie Carb. Could use a new Radiator; it is pretty discolored and has begun leaking a small amount of coolant when the car is running (not while sitting). The car does have factory air, so it has the larger radiator. Could use fresh belts. Small exhaust leak. Casting number: C5AE-A (correct for car+year).Factory Air: Very rare option for a convertible! Not sure if works, but all the components for it are present.Cruise-O-Matic Automatic Transmission: Shifts great, was rebuilt in September of '08. The car does leak a little transmission fluid, not sure from where.Brakes are solid and car tracks straight. No problems driving it down the road.Body and Frame: The pictures speak for themselves. This car has little to no rust. It started its life back in Dallas, TX. No rust on underside of doors or under the battery tray. Chrome bumpers are not perfect. Trim is all in good shape. All emblems are complete and not broken/cracked.3.00:1 Axle ratioTires are okay at best. Low miles, but showing their age (2008)Extras: Jack and lug wrench and spare are all in the trunk. Comes with original owners manual and several years of service documents. I checked under the back seat and under the dash but could not find the build sheet. Not sure where they put them in these cars though. The car was purchased in 1994 from Oklahoma. It started its life in Dallas, TX. Since coming to PA it has always been garage kept and only taken out on nice days.Let me know if you would like to see anything pictures or videos showing something in more detail. Also, if you are in the area and are serious, I would be happy to let you take a look at and drive the car in person. Accepting Cash and Personal Checks (once cleared). Please pay within 10 days of auction end. Car is also listed locally. This car is in great shape, it would be hard to find a more solid example in the North East. Selling because the fleet has gotten too big!
