this is a fine truck, purchased new in 1952 in Tuscumbia, Alabama by Robert c. highfield, jr. of Cherokee, al. it has been in the family ever since. my fiancé's mother gave it to me as a pre-wedding gift. we have decided to sell it as I need the money for some up-coming medical procedures. the only issues with it would be minor paint issues. it was painted around 1975. mostly it is real slick but there are some places on the fenders could be smoothed out a little bit if you wanted a first class restoration out of it, and the tail gate is not perfectly smooth. no rust anywhere on it at. the interior is very nice. the heater core is new, all hoses, brakes, wheel bearings, you name it. my fiancé went through it about 3 years ago and spent a lot of money on it. his father did the original restoration around 1975. you won't believe how good the old flat-head sounds and runs. it does not use any oil. it is a large pick-up, a 3/4 ton size bed. it is geared low and has a 4-speed with the super-low we call "granny low" on it. it is still 6-volt system. my fiancé's father added the bumpers and side-mirrors in 1975 and they are very nice, heavy-duty, but not the original.
