Vehicle Detail
Porsche : 924 Well, I tried to have some fun with selling this fun Porsche last week for a starting bid of $1, but the higher bidder wrote this to me after I sent her the invoice: "Hi I completely apologize and I have never ever had this happen, ever!!!! My son was bidding under my account! He thought it would be okay and we would purchase for him if he won! I only got the notification when it said "i won the bid"! This is something I can not afford nor have the means to travel to pick up! I sincerely apologize. I can not purchase this car! Please understand and I hop you can re-list it! Again I apologize for the inconvenience! I'm embarrassed! So sorry." As you may imagine, this soured my selling stance, so please, Please, PLEASE be sure to watch your eBay accounts so your children do not bid on something they can't pay for and understand that you must follow the eBay rules set forth in my description. At a starting bid of $1,500, I am reposting a Porshe 924 that sold for more and is the best deal you will find on the perfect car for daily driving or restoration. It really is the ideal car for someone who wants to get into the Porsche genre and have a great time, while getting great gas mileage with the 4 cylinder, 4 speed. Or, it's an excellent start to a full restoration, as the undercarriage shows only has surface rust, the interior is beautiful and she's in great mechanical shape. Or, if someone just wants to add nice BF Goodrich tires and wheels, gorgeous seats, a fine running drivetrain and extra parts that you often don't find (e.g. original manuals, tool kit, gauge cluster, etc.), this might also fit the bill. I'm also letting the vintage 1977 plate go with it (legal in MI), as well as the Blaupunkt stereo. While it definitely could use a paint job and minor body work, she starts, stops, shifts, runs and tacks down the road with absolutely no issues! The clutch feels great, the handling is very impressive and it really is a fun car to drive. The closeup I took of the rear rocker is the worst spot on the car with rust that will need some repair. Also, it needs a headlight, which will be included in the sale. The gas gauge doesn't work (interestingly, the clock keeps perfect time!), but I'm also including a replacement to go with the car. Lastly, the previous owner indicated that the sunroof leaked, so he sealed it shut (not the smartest idea in the repair department). In any case, I'd put this car, in great running condition, nice interior and lots of extras in the 3K-5K range, with a much higher value with a nice paint job. The battery is strong, she doesn't leak or smoke and the antifreeze is good to go down to 30 below zero. It's not perfect, but it's a Porsche and we're hoping that those looking for a great deal will enter the bidding fray. Please keep in mind that you are bidding on an 38 year old car and that your bid is a binding contract for purchase. Please ask questions before bidding, as I want to be sure that everything that I might have missed has been fully disclosed to you and you are satisfied with your purchase. However, please understand that I'm selling it with no expressed or implied warranties or guarantees and I expect a $200 nonrefundable Paypal payment within 24 hours and the rest of the balance within 3 days (Paypal, Cash, Cleared Certified Check or Cleared Wire Transfer) with no exceptions. Once the car is paid for and leaves my driveway, it is your car and I will not offer any refunds under any conditions. Also, I do reserve the right to end the auction early, as the car is also up for sale locally in Dearborn, MI. Feel free to call or text me at 313-805-4265 if you want to come look at the car, have it inspected or take a test drive. In fact, I encourage you to do so, as this car is very impressive for her age. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the high bidder, but I will help with loading or picking you up at Detroit Metro Airport if you want to fly in and drive her home.
