NO RESERVE!!!! Up for sale is my fiance's 1997 Mercedes Benz SL600, yes this is the one you want w/ 12 cylinders, Xenon headlights & Sport package. This was kind of a bad idea on her part to buy as she drives a lot for her job and her job involves social work in sometimes not so nice neighborhoods, couple this to the fact that the V12 only likes to sip premium petrol and it doesn't take long to realize a Prius is a far better choice. So its time to part with it and free up some garage space. First this is a nice car, it is not perfect but it is very nice. The paint shines and gets lots of stares when driving in town and the interior is in great shape, the seats look like new. The engine sounds beautiful and purrs like a kitten, strange to think such a huge engine can run so quietly. Transmission shifts as it should. A/C and heart work. So as for the mechanicals and overall appearance it is in great shape, there are just little things that need to be addressed and I want to be as descriptive as possible as I know buying a car off Ebay can sometimes be a daunting experience. Pictures tell most of the story, I will try to fill in the blanks. The top is good but the rear window is a little cloudy and will need to be cleaned. Top is original Mercedes equipment. The driver side mirror has some blackout discoloration at the bottom and can be used as is or will need to be replaced if little things bother you. One of the sun visors is missing the cover. There is a little chunk out of the wood center console and the power top switch is missing the red lift piece but still functions however the power top is now a manual top as it will only roll down the windows when you pull back on the switch, the top does not work but it can be easily be manually taken down or put up. The wheels and tires are obviously not stock, they are 20" staggered Maas and the tires are near new, the car has a stiff ride because of the large wheels and wide low profile tires. The radio does not work. The dome light assembly is included but needs some repair as it has been broken and repaired. The rearview mirror is broken beyond repair but what pieces are left I will give you. The foam part of the steering wheel on the top is braking down and will need attention, the wood portion is in great shape. Finally the hydraulic suspension works as it should but if the car sits for a long duration (like a week) it will slowly get lower. As soon as the car is started it levels itself out just as it should. Fly in and drive it away, its a good car that just needs some TLC.
