Vehicle Detail
ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION ; The mechanical fuel pump Diaphragm is going bad. I was making sure everything was ready for new owner an all of a sudden very little fuel in the float bowl. I did prime it and it started back again so at this point this is a non driving car however it still does run an drive however may leave you stranded so fixing the fuel pump which is a mechanical one located on the upper side of engine or advising replace it with a electric fuel pump like most all cars now days use. . Sorry to everyone who saved this car in your watch list. Its still a great car. It had been sitting for a very long time an once I got it It has only been driven around town. Greetings, Up for auction is one of the last survivors of the 2nd generation Dodge Challengers. Just a little history as this car was made in Japan and re badge for Chrysler because at that time in history there was a gas crisis an the buying public demanded better fuel mileage vehicles. Chrysler sot after Mitsubishi for a little help and we got the 2nd generation Challengers. This one has the 2.6 liter 4 cylinder with Automatic transmission. Car runs good ( it sounds like any import 4 cylinder of the era as the fuel pump is on the side of engine and is controlled by the cam) , shifts good and drives good (currently fuel pump is out) and straight, stops good (City driving only), Has 4 wheel disc brakes, It drives better than some newer vehicles of today. The story about this car from the person I got it from was that the original owner passed away around 2011 She had it since new (Garaged most of its life) and you can tell it was very well taken care of. Left the car to a relative who then took it to the dealership to trade it in on something he wanted more. The car is amazing for the year and really is a show car just as it stands as there are hardly any left. It gets a friendly wave an thumbs up all the time. You can see by the pictures it is not perfect however the things it could use done does not stop the overall great preservation of this beautiful ride. It has a few small door dings, some rock chips on the front fenders an hood area and also rock chips behind wheel wells. The plastic around the bumpers need redone and the side mirrors are a little faded. The beautiful part is this car has absolutely no rust through. That's right no rust through at all. It may need a seal here and there as the car is old and had been sitting. I did replace a couple of the tie rod end boots. The vinyl top looks like it did the first day they installed it with no rust bubbles under it. Your not going to find to many cars this age with No Rust through anywhere. It came from Montana an was at some point undercoated an even has block heater installed.. IT does have a few new parts add recently......Door locks, door handles, Door and window seals are good.Manual windows and locks. Has 2 keys. Even the light around the outside door key slots lights up. It has power mirrors and comes with the working factory am/fm radio with one single dash speaker.Did not have rear speaker however the factory wires are there for the upgrade. There is the original car jacket still in plastic in the trunk and the original white letter spare tire. This car did come with white letter tires from the factory. Is a non smokers car with no burns anywhere. Interior is in awesome shape. The car is original and still looks new.Does not appear to have ever been wrecked. The paints appears to be original as well it looks average as it does have the mentions rock chips etc. The clear coat has held up really well . Please look pictures over closely as this is a very old car and is not going to be new but it will be new to you. Has original owners manual with options list when new. It did not come with Ac and seeing the original owner lived in Montana I guess its not needed like here in Oklahoma. It does currently have lucus oil treatment in engine. The car does not smoke at any time hot cold or warm.. It is currently tagged with green Oklahoma title which is a free and clear title, not salvage or re built ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION ; Due to the age of this car it needs a few things. The fuel pump diaphragm has gone bad. It will run for a little then pump will stop flow to a drip. It will easily run to load up on trailer etc. There are a ton of positives about the car however let me list the things I have found that can be made right at your convenience; 1) Look at photos of seats. There are suppose to be a belt buckle style item attached to each of the straps on the seats. There are 2 left that have not broken or snapped off so someone could take the time to take off the remaining ones and have then 3d printed as you can not find these anywhere.2) The over head Clock comes on when it wants too. The passenger door light does not work3) The overhead light for washer fluid stays on however the washer does work for the windshield wipers. Also the engine light is on an at some point someone covered it up with a piece of tape. The engine runs good an seeing it is one of the 1st cars with emissions there is no telling why its on.4) The dash has stitches split due to the heat from the sun. So a dash cover is needed. 5) missing original battery brace 6) Trunk gasket is cracked and dry7) The carburetor vacuum is not engaging the secondaries. The Carburetor may need to be cleaned. The Carb may even need to be rebuilt as it is the original carburetor. Car runs and idles good once warmed up There are a lot of great things about this car that I know I have not mentions. Please feel free to ask questions. As a Bidder if you only have a current 0 (zero purchases) Please do not bid, Sorry. Will need $500.00 deposit withing 24 hrs after auction ends and 4 days to pick up vehicle or a time agreed upon. Thanks to everyone who has viewed this add. This is a car worth having an to share with others to see. With this car you will have a col ride for you local car show. I reserve the right to end auction at anytime. Good luck... On Oct-08-15 at 06:41:34 PDT, seller added the following information: All gauges work an are accurate, the speedometer is accurate, all exterior lights work including brake lights and dim / bright lights. The only light on the car that is not working is the light on the lower inside passenger door that should come on when the door is opened like the drivers side does. The original owner was a very tidy person as there are no stains inside the car.
