Vehicle Detail
Offered for your consideration is this beautiful 1955 Chevy BelAir. It belongs to a friend of mine from Hawaii who asked me to help him sell her. As you can see from the photos she has a fairly recent repaint job and the interior was completely redone. The car was tastefully upgraded in the drivetrain and a few other areas. She now is powered by a Chevy 350 motor with Edelbrock intake and a turbo automatic transmission. She also is upgraded with power brakes and steering and the front brakes were upgraded to discs. She is sporting Crager rims front and back and the tires are fresh. She also has front seat belts installed. I drove this car from San Diego to Las Vegas, a distance of about 350 miles this summer. She drove like a dream and was a blast to drive. My arm was getting sore from returning all the waves and thumb's up along the way home. She's in great mechanical and cosmetic shape but let's be clear, this is a 60 year old car. I would rate the paint about an 8 out of a scale of 1 to 10. She has a few minor blemishes here and there. There is a small area on the rear quarter below the trunk lid that has a bit of paint chipped and some cracking. Not bad but I want to be as honest as I can. There are also a few minor bubbled up areas here and there on the paint. Not overly obvious, smaller than a pencil eraser. There's some minor rust here and there but everything I've seen is minor surface rust in out of the way areas and nothing I'd worry about. The odometer shows a bit above 95,000 miles. I have no idea if this is correct mileage or not but I assume it is at least close. The speedo hops around when you first drive her then starts working fine after a couple miles. Bottom line on this sweetheart is she's a fun, reliable weekend cruiser that is a lot of fun to drive. If you felt the need you could put a couple thousand into her and have a 50K car. The description of this car is written to the best of my knowledge. However, I am by no means an expert on vintage cars. Please don’t hesitate to ask for more photos and, if possible, come and look in person before the auction ends. ALL SALES ARE FINAL!
