1989 VW Jetta GLI You are bidding on a 5-speed, Jetta 16V GLI; a great model year car built for long-term durability. I purchased the car used in 1998 and have had it serviced at the same garage over the years. This was a top model car at the time, with Recaro Seats and other added features – including teardrop rims etc. The paint is faded, and there is some of the clearcoat lifting, but no bare metal. The body is solid with very little rust. Not all the gadgets work given the age, but mechanically it’s a good, solid running car with plenty of life still in it and fun to drive. I will say the fifth gear is a little tricky at times but works. This car does have high mileage because I live very rurally and used it as my commuter to work.
