Vehicle Detail

As a gearhead attorney, I’m anal about the care and maintenance of my cars, from the B-7 to the JK Wrangler. Unfortunately, the time has come to part with the automotive love of my life, my 1990 Grand Wagoneer—grew up on the beach (thus the ‘Wrightsville Beach’ front license plate), where the ‘Woody’ was the ‘it’ car the cool kids drove. It literally pained me to take the pics for this ad. Gunmetal gray exterior with a Maroon / Garnet interior. Purchased in 2004 from someone using it as a garage-kept 3rd car, that also describes my usage—drive it maybe 250 miles per month, take family Christmas photos in it, etc. Has been stored in a garage or barn since purchased; never smoked in. When purchased, it was in good shape but since owning it the last 11+ years, it has been my permanent tinkering project: it has been restored to the same or higher standards than OEM, using the same or better quality components and a few upgrades to boot. Just don’t drive it enough to justify keeping it with my business growing. Mechanically, a OEM new engine and transmission were installed four years ago (with less than 12k miles since). Cosmetically, it was repainted, new woodgrain and new ceiling upholstery was installed three years ago. Some subtle non OEM upgrades here and there: a very slight lift (1.5 inches) to accommodate larger tires, new beefier suspension, small LED cubes on the front bumper, aftermarket stereo, and speakers, and Hushmat sound damper installed underneath the floorboard & ceiling for a more quiet ride. All work done on the ‘Woody’ done by the best in the business. All suspension / lift / tire upgrades done at 4-wheel parts. All body/consmetic work done at Automotive International. Freemans installed the Hushmat, stereo & speakers. I welcome any independent mechanic inspections. All in, since purchased in 2004 for $8k, I’ve spent $25k+ in refurbishing it—so it has over $32k invested total with just over 98k original miles. You will not find any Grand Wagoneer on the road today that even approaches how lovingly and meticulously it has been refurbished to like-new quality, with the craftsmanship and attention to detail on all work done by the best of the best. Am in no rush to sell: price is a firm $20k to start, with a ‘buy it now’ price of $25k. I’ll keep the ad open for a bit to attract the attention of the person out there who knows and appreciates how rare and unique and classic these ‘Woodys’ are. Purchased in 2004 from someone using it as a garage-kept 3rdcar with 77,000 original miles, that also describes my usage—it is a 4th vehicle for our family & we drive it maybe 250 miles per month, take family Christmas photos in it, etc. Life just goes a little slower when driving one of these. Some subtle non OEM upgrades here and there: a very slight lift (1.5 inches) to accommodate larger tires, new beefier suspension, small LED cubes on the front bumper, aftermarket stereo, and speakers (but upgraded top-of-line speakers all the same profile & size, so no cutting done to accomodate), and Hushmat sound damper installed underneath the floorboard & ceiling for a more quiet ride. All work done on the ‘Woody’ done by the best of the best in the automotive repair / restoration business: 1) All suspension / lift / tire upgrades done at 4-Wheel Parts; 2) All body/consmetic work done at Automotive International (they specialize in Bentlys, Rolls & had my Alpina B7 repaired there when rear-ended); 3) Freemans installed the Hushmat, stereo & speakers. I welcome any independent mechanic inspections. All in, since purchased in 2004 for $8k with approx. 75k miles, I’ve spent $25k+ in refurbishing it—so it has over $32k invested total with just over 98.5k original miles: in 11.5 years I've owned it, have driven it 13.5k miles total. You will not find any Grand Wagoneer on the road today that even approaches how lovingly and meticulously it has been refurbished to like-new quality, with the craftsmanship and attention to detail on all work done by the best of the best. This is not a 'show-quality' vehicle-- it is 26 years old-- but probably 90% close to show quality if that is your thing & very little would need to be done to get it to 100%. Local Pick-up only.I have perfect 100% feedback, have been on Ebay since 2004, and strive to keep it that way. Doing so demands being as transparent as possible-- it is the right thing to do and, especially in my profession, my integrity is everything. SO 3 NOTES: A) I will have interior pics, as well as pics of the underbody and under the hood posted no later than COB Tuesday, as I am out of town on business & had my secretary post this. B) While you will not find a better quality, meticulously cared-for and babied 'Woody' on the road being actually driven, the refurbishments / enhancements were not intended to make it 'show quality,' but it is 90% there and if that is your thing, it would not take long to get it to 100% show quality. C) When I purchased the vehicle in 2004 with a little over 75,000 miles, the DMV issued a duplicate title and, due to the age, made a clerical error and assumed it was over 100,000 miles. This is how the title reads, however. I would be more than happy to execute an affidavit attesting to same, under oath & seal of notary, to attest to same. And if you look at the mileage reported on the title, it shows a 100,000 mile jump in just a few months-- which, of course, would be impossible in that short of a duration of time.
