Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a vintage and rust free 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix model LJ 2-Door Hardtop Coupe. This California car and was recently purchased from the estate of the original owner. The car and drives runs great and looks pretty cool too. The car has a Clean California Title and current registration which is good through July 2016. The car odometer shows 16109 miles on it and has the original Blue California license plates. Insurance value on this car by State Farm Insurance is $15,000-$20,000. State Farm Underwriters have authorized and I currently have the car insured for $10,000.00 with classic car insurance based on the current condition. Pontiac built two Grand Prix models in 1978, the Sports Model (SJ) and the Luxury Model (LJ). This is the luxury model with luxury package. This car has the factory original 305 CID (5.0L) V8 engine with 2 bbl carburetor and an automatic transmission. It has the original two-tone silver gray paint with Landau Cordova padded top and working T-Tops. The car has factory original 15x7 Western Wheels with center caps. (one cap is missing the Pontiac insignia). All four tires have lots of tread left on them. The body is straight and clean except for minor previous work done to the doors. The paint is in good driver condition. The paint on the sides is nice condition but the hood and trunk have the oxidation which is customary when the California sun hits metallic silver paint. The car had previous poorly done minor body/patch work on the doors. And, as you can see there is gray and black paint overspray on those areas as well as in parts of the chrome door trim. I know the black paint will come off the chrome trim and I understand the gray overspray can be removed with wet sanding but not sure. The body works should be redone and some of the minor body trim and possibly the rear bumper rubber insert should be replaced if the new owner would like perfect car. The right and left rear quarter corners near the bumpers have gray over spray. The right side is shown on the pictures. The car has tinted windows all the way around including the back window and T-Tops. The right passenger window also has black paint over spray on the top right corner but it is hard to see from the outside because of the tinted windows. The car has the original tire jack. This a non-smoker car. The interior is in nice overall condition for its age. The car has real front and rear leather seats. The front sport bucket seats have cracking and can use dying. The rear seats are in very nice condition. The padded vinyl door panels and dash are in nice condition with no cracks. The automatic center console and shifter are in nice condition. The center console compartment cover opens and shuts correctly but the cover has crackling and looks like someone painted with red paint. The car has an instrument panel has rally gauges, working tilt steering wheel, power windows, power door locks, power driver side seat controls and Clarion CDM-9823 AM/FM/CD Stereo with removable faceplate. The car has working air conditioning and blows cold. However, the bi-level function does not work properly and air only comes out of the top dash vent and lower driver floor-side console vent. The head lights, tail lights, brake lights, back up lights, turn signals, horn, power windows, driver power seat controls, stereo, etc work great. This is a No Reserve Auction and someone is going to get a great deal given the value of the car. This car is being sold “AS-IS” and as described with no written or implied warranty. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. More importantly, please do not bid if you do not intend to complete and pay for this transaction.
