For sale: Original survivor 74 Ford F250 Ranger XLT Camper Special truck that was one family owned from 1974-2015. Purchased new and lived here in high desert of Montana, land of the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus. This truck was owned by a wealthy rancher and used as his "sunday truck" for runs to town and occasional camping trips. The truck was passed on to his granddaughter, she and her husband used the truck for dump runs and hauling firewood. Nicely equipped with Ranger XLT package, factory A/C, factory camper mounts, side tool box, and top of the line 460 engine. Complete correct original, still wearing it's factory jack and handle! Very well maintained by local Ford dealership, whatever the truck needed it got. Great truck for those trips to Home Depot or to the Cracker Barrel on Sundays with the wife. I'll do my best to describe this neat truck below: Exterior: Original paint still shines well, with the typical scratches and dings from daily use. Great driver quality rig. The ginger color is very thin in a couple of spots, like the roof and below rear fuel door. Looks like there was a small repair on driver door and the paint has a few cracks in one spot there. Dent in passenger side front fender as shown. NO ROT or rust other than minor surface rust in bed. See link to underside pics- this truck has none of the typical Ford rust out so commonly seen on these trucks. This is arid country and we don't see major rot here - there's just not enough moisture. Tailgate is bowed and there's a large dent under the chrome cap. Glass is good with no cracks. Chrome moldings have a few dings here and there but no pitting, grille and grille surround in good condition. Front bumper chrome nice, but it's tweaked a bit. Factory camper frame mounts are included. Overall great driver quality rig that won't win any shows but will draw plenty of compliments and thumbs up. Interior: All original and in good condition. Dash, headliner, and door panels all excellent with no damage. Original XLT/Lariat seat in great condition with just a few tears on driver side as shown. Original floor mat has a few cracks. Passenger side map pocket below door panel is missing, but that's the easy side to find. Most everything seems to work including horn and original radio. A/C blows but doesn't get cold. Just a nice clean original truck. Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out fine. Original 460 has good oil pressure with no noticeable smoke, noises, or major leaks. Truck was serviced regularly and well maintained. Stock and original with the exception of carb, which was upgraded to an Edelbrock Performer. I've driven the truck to work and lunch a few times and to a couple of cruise night shows, and its tight and nice. Probably could use a tune up, idles rough at times. Tires have good tread but they are older and have weather cracks, so plan on replacing them soon. Only one gas tank (front) has been used recently and gas in the rear is soured. Would need to address that if you wanted to use both tanks. Only issues beyond that I can see are tires, and passenger side rear wheel seal looks like it's been seeping fluid onto backing plate. Pricing/Misc: NO RESERVE. I got a good deal on this truck and you will too. Remember, this is an old vehicle, and even though there are no major issues, stuff happens with old rigs. If you haven't fooled with vintage cars and trucks before, adjust your expectations accordingly. Title is clear and open in the previous owner's name, ready for you to sign as purchaser. I can store the truck outside for 30 days for free after the auction ends, after that there will be storage fees of $100 per month.
