Vehicle Detail

1984 Porsche 928S "S2" Coupe!! The odometer reads 115233 (it stopped working about 1,500 miles ago) so the actual mileage is not known. It has been well maintained. This 928S still retains its - FACTORY ORIGINAL - A-pillar mounted VIN tag, FACTORY ORIGINAL driver's door jamb mounted data stickers and the FACTORY ORIGINAL Porsche 928S warranty & maintenance book. Also included is the original tool kit. At the heart of this 928S is a - STRONG - ORIGINAL - 4.7 Liter Bosch Multi Port Fuel Injected - Single Overhead Cam - V8 motor that is running very well indeed. The motor also still retains it's ORIGINAL Aluminum Porsche intake manifold, ORIGINAL exhaust manifolds, ORIGINAL intake ducting, ORIGINAL air cleaner housing and the ORIGINAL Bosch fuel injection system. Sounds AWESOME too with the - "THROATY" - factory style exhaust system. The motor is backed by the ORIGINAL - VERY RARE - 5 speed manual transaxle that also functions ok. The syncros for 1st and 2nd need replacement. 1st gear is noisy and makes a chattering noise. If you have ever driven a 5 speed 928S you know first gear is somewhat meant as a "hill gear" and this transaxle was meant to be shifted in a slow, deliberate fashion. If you speed shift a 928S you will pay for it. Only 15-20% of all US market 928S's were equipped with 5 speed manual gearboxes. If I were keeping this car I would rebuild the Trans, but it is very drivable as is. The interior is in nice condition for its age. The dash is in good condition and all gauges work. The front seats need recovering as there are currently black Porsche seat covers on then. The back seats and side panels are in very nice condition. The interior color is chocolate brown. This 928 features Bosch factory pop-up headlights (one is cracked, but still works fine), A working factory power sunroof (it does leak a little when washed or a very heavy rain), factory power windows, power steering, factory power 4 way disc brakes, factory power driver's and passenger seats, gauges (all in good working condition), factory rear window defogger, factory back-up lights, factory power wipers (washers need attention), rear wiper, the factory air that blows cold, heater and defroster and defroster work (although the fan sometimes has the "ghost" which is typical for the 928, A working original clock, factory front and rear seat belts, An aftermarket radio (I would update it). The brakes are in good condition. The tires are nice. They are Firestone Firehawk SZ. The fronts have about 50% left and the rears 90%. The odometer does not work. It stopped last fall as I reset the trip odometer while driving. Big mistake! The timing belt was changed about 30,000 miles and 8 years ago. There is no rust on the body. The paint is nice except for a few spots on the hood and a few other areas need slight attention but overall very nice for a 31 year old car. Look at the pictures it is the actual car being sold.
