I bought this car about 3 years ago in Peoria, IL and have driven it to work daily, it has never left me stranded. (gets appx.24mpg highway/city split driving)THE GOOD: Has less than 5,000 miles on all four tires Has had inner and outer tie rods replaced. (steering is good and responsive...not sloppy) Has had one hub assembly replaced Has had a tune up since owned... plugs, wires, oil changes, idle control valve, air filter,etc. Has had the heater core and the heater hose assembly replaced Brake lines are in good condition.(must have been replaced before I bought it) All four oxygen sensors have been replaced Has had front brake pads replaced since I bought it Has had serpentine belt replaced since owning it. a/c and heat work wellInterior/exterior in decent shapeNOT SO GOOD: Pulls a little to the left.(alignment may help) Mild shaking noticed when braking from highway speeds to stop sign (maybe warped rotor) Seeping trans fluid from transmission pan gasket.(replacement needed at some point, currently not a show stopper) Steering noise in town almost like a "click" sound ever so often. (?? mostly just annoying) When passing car on highway I noticed it "cutouts, hesitates sort of" at higher rpm(??)(maybe fuel filter, or camshaft synchronizer from what I've read ) Car drives great otherwise. (If you drive the car normally, one would never know of hesitation) Has thrown p0442 code before (evap small leak) replaced 2 hoses, sensor, and gas cap (check engine light off now, but may return) Small rust on fender wells. (see pic) Side mirrors different colors. (have the old white cap)Even with these known issues I personally would not be worried to drive this car long distance.The Taurus is being sold AS-IS and I have done my best to described everything I have encountered, but I am not a mechanic.Taurus is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction at anytime.I will assist in shipping the car if buyer makes all arrangements with shipping company.
