Vehicle Detail
Very nice 1951 Studebaker Champion Custom 2 door Sedan. Recently rebuilt, original 170 cubic inch flathead 6 cylinder engine with approximately 6,000 miles.Factory 3-speed, column-shifted, manual transmission with overdrive. Original 6-volt electrical system with new voltage regulator and newer heavy-duty Interstate battery.Properly operating turn signals.Freshly re-built carburetor, fuel pump, starter & generator. All new brake system (incl. master cylinder, wheel cylinders, rubber flex lines, bonded brake shoes, turned drums, hardware, and brake switch) converted to long-lasting, moisture resistant DOT-5 silicone fluid.New radial tires. (See photo.)Auxiliary electric fuel pump with separate switch.New water pump and thermostat. All new metal fuel line.Rebuilt radiator with new radiator cap. New shock absorbers.Rechromed bumpers & guards.Newer exhaust system, hoses and belt.Defroster with fan & under-seat heater; both work well. (Heater will roast you!)Car is extremely presentable, but not a perfect car.Passenger side vent window is cracked and there is a dime-sized paint chip at the bottom of the left front fender. (See photos.)No visible rust; solid floor boards and rocker panels; body and paint work done by previous owner approximately 4 years ago.Rear side-windows need cat-wiskers and felt channel replaced; backlight gasket has a patched split at top edge and could use replacement.Runs and drives extremely well; has been driven cross-country (North Carolina to Colorado) and on numerous long distance trips (Nebraska, South Dakota, Western Colorado & Rocky Mountains) without issues. Be different and own a classic "Bullet Nose"!As they say, "Anyone can own a Ford or Chevy".
