Vehicle Detail
The time has come to say goodbye to my W150. I bought it back in December 2011 as a winter driver for a job that I thought that I was starting the following January. The job never materialized, and I don't think that I've even put 3000 miles on the truck since then. Now I'm an over-the-road truck driver and barely use my other car, so I really don't need to be spending money on insurance for two vehicles. I did a lot of work to it when I first bought it, so I'll probably be taking a pretty big hit on the sale. For someone who doesn't already have a truck, it would be great for running errands to the home center or nursery, but I'd really like to see someone buy it as a project to fix up. The 1970's pickups are collectible now, and some day the 1980's trucks may be too. This would be a good one to have. It's one of the best color combinations Dodge had at the time and I believe that it has just about every option that was available in 1987. As you can see in the pictures, the truck is still very presentable, but does have some cosmetic issues, those being rust and the clear coat peeling on the red areas. Structurally, the truck is in good shape. All the cab supports, rockers, bed supports and framing are still pretty clean. I only found one small hole in the floor near the driver side seatbelt anchor. The black that you see on the bottoms of the doors is some POR-15 that I brushed on when I first got the truck. Moisture had gotten under the paint and it's pretty pitted there, but not through yet. I do have two nice doors that go with the truck. The bed has some rust through in spots, plus some Bondo in front of the left taillight. The inside of the bed is real nice, as the truck always had a cap and bed mat. There is some rust on the front edge of the roof that is close to going through, or may even be through in spots. The frame and chassis is crusty, but I don't see any spots where it's gotten thin. The only real bad rust is on the trailer hitch, which has a hole in one side. The interior is real nice, with only minor wear in a few spots. Mechanically, the truck is in good shape, and it runs and drives well. Currently, nothing needs to be repaired to drive the truck on a daily basis. The previous owner replaced the timing chain as a preventative measure, and sometime in the past, the trans was rebuilt, and I'll list all the mechanical repairs that I made to it. The negatives in the mechanical area are an occasional lifter tap that will come and go as it pleases and the A/C doesn't work. The lifter tap isn't loud enough to notice inside the truck, and doesn't stick around for more than a minute or so at a time. The engine has been well maintained, and after an oil change the oil will stay pretty clean for some time. Here's a list of repairs that I made: all new brake lines and fuel lines brake hoses, rear wheel cylinders front pads, calipers, repacked wheel bearings, cut rotors parking brake cables motor mounts freeze plugs and block heater heater core front axle U-joints rear driveshaft U-joints battery carb rebuild air and fuel filters power steering pump seals steering coupler wiper linkage bushings oil and lube less than 100 miles ago Feel free to ask anything that I didn't cover. I'm in eastern Pennsylvania, about half way between Philadelphia and Allentown. You may come and see the truck in person if you live nearby. Of course, the truck is being sold as-is, where-is. Deposit by PayPal, and balance due in 7 days. I will accept PayPal for the full amount if you spring for the fees on the balance, which I think is 2.5%. On Aug-12-15 at 21:35:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Some things that I should have put in the listing: The 4WD system works. It has the Vacuum operated locking mechanism on the front axle, and the light on the dash comes on when 4WD is engaged. There are no bad interior smells: non-smoker, no dogs, not musty. Even though it's obvious in the one picture, I should have mentioned that the paint on the roof is shot. Unless you are real tall, it's not all that noticeable in person.
