Vehicle Detail
1953 Chevrolet Business Coupe Body 150 style 1227B (Business Coupe) built in Oakland California spent entire life except for last 3 years in Seattle area. 235 full pressure six cylinder that runs great, 3 speed transmission shifts smooth. Still retains the original torque tube rear axle. Car has had one repaint several years ago and is still in great shape. Upholstery is great and seats are as firm as new. Although this is a Business Coupe, they could be ordered many configurations. This one has a rear seat with duel interior sun visors, standard called for only one visor and front seat only, and of course, this car has the stationary rear windows. The benefit is that you have a completely stock 150 Business Coupe that you can take five of your best friends with you. The floors are in great condition with the exception of the driver’s floor where the brake fluid rubber plug area is rusted and in need of repair. I have the EMS repair panel that will go with the sale. The passenger floor is in great condition with only rust stains from a under dash leaking heater unit which has been disconnected from the water supply. There is a replacement heater that will go with sale. The rear floors along with the trunk and rockers show no rust at all. All electrical with exception of radio are in working condition. All instruments are in working order except speedometer. All glass is in great shape. Window rubber looks new. Chrome is as you see in pictures, not show quality but much more than driver quality. Tires are bias ply with plenty of tread, and if you have driven cars with bias ply tires you know what to expect in tracking. Brakes and clutch are in very good condition. The body is as straight as it can be. The passenger’s door as shown in the pictures protrudes out about ¼ inch at the bottom. Adjustment is needed here. All other body lines are true and matched to each other. The overall fit of this car shows many years of care. I believe this car would have no problem hitting Route 66 from its present location in Oklahoma and driving to your home without issues. (At 1953 speeds of course). The speedometer shows 61 thousand + miles and I myself find this hard to believe, but the condition and way this car drives I’m beginning to think it just might be true. Got questions? Ask away.
