Vehicle Detail
• Includes maintenance records until 2010 • Oil and filters changed every 8-10k • 265,000 miles, but it's still running strong • New alternator, front brakes and rotors, transmission fluid • Tiptronic Automatic Transmission • 4 Door • Free CarFax report We all know DIESELS last forever. This car has been well maintained and a majority of the miles were highway miles. My dad drove this car for 215,000 miles before he sold it to me. I got a bit behind on record keeping for maintenance but made sure it got oil changes on time. Since 2010 it has had oil changes, filter changes, new brakes and rotors, front bumper replaced after minor accident, 4 tires, alternator, brake switch, front axles, cleaned turbo, new transmission fluid. This car is in decent shape and ready to drive. I'm only selling it to upgrade to a newer car that Uber will allow. Problems with the car: Recently the car would go into transmission limp mode. Changing the transmission fluid seemed to have fixed this problem. Car has had timing belt changed twice, but will need a new one soon since it was last changed at 166,999. Hood doesn't latch properly. The secondary latch does hold it down, but it could use a new hood latch. This was replaced at 228,154 and has failed again. Check engine light comes on due to 2 problems. The coolant tank sensor is malfunctioning. (Although the car doesn't lose coolant or leak it.) I haven't replaced the sensor since the temp gauge shows the car is fine. The other code is related to the glow plug system. The glow plugs did have a recall with VW so if you care to fix it VW should be able to do it. Car is sold "as is" and no warranty is expressed or implied. Yes there are a few problems with this old car, but all in all it's ready to drive another 100,000 miles with a new timing belt and minor repairs. KBB says it;s worth $2,479-$3,199 but these diesels always sell for higher than KBB. There is no dpf filter on this car which makes it biodiesel compatible. Use Ebay question if you want a test drive.
