1977 Chrysler Newport 2 Door, one owner from new having covered just 17,165 miles. This Newport runs, drives, smells and feels like a new car. Amazing original condition throughout. It drives down the road as it would of in 1977, it really does drive like a new car. The big 400 cid V8 has a lot of torque and gets away from the lights with surprising momentum yet it does so in a very hushed and relaxed manner. Very much like driving a classic Rolls Royce. The 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission shifts very smoothly, you barely notice gear changes. The suspension is very smooth and tight. The brakes are strong and stop the car in a perfectly straight line. The entire fuel system and the brakes have recently been gone through due to the car sitting in dry storage for a couple of years. All work was carried out to a very high standard. Also 4 new white wall tires have been fitted due to the age of the original tires. There is no mechanical issues with this Newport and I would happily drive it across the country and back. The body is also in excellent condition. There is no rust, this Newport has always been garaged. The trunk floor and quarter panels are perfect with the original rust preventative wax still present in the trunk. The vinyl top is in perfect condition. The chrome is like new. It has never had any accidents. The glass is all perfect with no chips. There are a few very minor imperfections such as a couple of stone chips but nothing noticeable and no worse than any well cared for 6 month old car. Truly incredible for a 38 year old car. The interior is in time warp condition. There is absolutely no wear to the pristine upholstery. The door panels are perfect. The dash has no cracks. The headliner is as new. Everything works including the FM radio. This Newport has never been smoked in, the lighter and ash tray are unused. Original owners handbook is present in the glove compartment along with a spare set of keys. The trunk mat is in excellent condition. The jack and spare look to be unused. All weatherstripping and door seal rubbers are perfect and are still soft. This car does not leak or suffer from wind noise. Overall this is as close to perfect as I have ever seen a used cars interior. This 1977 Chrysler Newport is an excellent example of an original time warp car. There is nothing that compares to driving such an original low mileage classic. It really takes you back to another time. The 2 Door Newport is a much rarer car than the regular 4 door sedan so that makes this immaculate low mileage example even more special.
