Vehicle Detail
You ‘re looking at a well maintained TOUGH 1998 Wrangler 5 speed 4.0L engine with a 4” lift kit and 31” tires that is ready for a weekend down at the shore or a long hard day in the woods. It has all the necessities needed for anyone who is looking to join the jeep family, with almost $3,000 worth of add-on’s. Last summer the engine was replaced with a newer one with only 121,000 miles. Many parts were replaced with new ones during the engine swap, as it made sense to do before dropping the new engine into place. The jeep starts up easily and runs like a charm. It drives like just like you would expect from a jeep with sensitive steering and no Death Wobble. Anyone who has ever owned a jeep knows, these are great, reliable vehicles that are impossible to kill. I am only selling the wrangler because I am currently enrolled in a Graduate program near Albany and do not have the time to enjoy the jeep to its fullest potential. As seen in the photos, there are some expected blemishes in the paint that you would see in any Jeep this age, but overall the paint is still in pretty good shape for a body with 280,000 miles on it. Just recently the synchro’s have been starting to make a little noise, mostly in 3rd gear. The transmission will eventually need a rebuild down the road, but still runs fine as a daily driver. Anyone who knows transmissions will tell you that the AX-15 Transmissions are bullet proof and will run forever even after beginning to make noise. I am currently enrolled in a Graduate program and do not have any free time or else I would work on the tranny myself. The off road lights work well; I just never got around to reconnecting them after the engine swap. Overall this Jeep is a great buy and runs great. Perfect for anyone looking for a beautiful lifted Jeep being sold “As-Is”. This is going for local sale also and I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime.
