Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a very nice 1969 AMC Ambassador. I have recently acquired another project car and need the space. This one needs to go to a good home. I will try to be as descriptive as possible and feel free to message any additional questions. Thanks for looking The good: Car starts, runs, drives all excellent. I have driven it quite a bit and it rides and handles wonderfully. NO RUST, this is a western car originally from Sacramento, then was in Denver for several years and then to me. cleanest underneath I have ever seen 343 runs great and strong. Starts right up, runs smooth, no funny noises, no misses, no leaks. Transmission shifts smooth I recently replaced all the brake system. Master, all wheel cylinders, all new shoes New Battery, tires good, all lights work, no cracked glass, windows roll up and down, wipers, turn signals, all work as they should Comes with original owners manual and window sticker (it was $4,202.00 when new) Door panels, headliner all good. Front and rear seats are new and were redone in NOS material and done very well. The Not as good: Car has one small leak from the shift shaft seal on the transmission. It will leak a puddle about two inches in diameter after sitting for about a month. Nothing else leaks at all. Car was originally a dark brown and is still that color in the trunk and under hood areas. Paint looks OK, but whoever taped it was not too skilled at taping. Around trim and such there are places you can see the lines where the tape was or wasn't, paint looks ok otherwise Some idiot in this cars past cut a hole in the dash area to put in another radio, so there is a hole, see pic. I had always thought about putting a piece of wood grain type material over it maybe. There are some cracks in the dash, could be repaired. Its not coming apart or anything like that. I'm not a body man but I think the front drivers fender has been either replaced or repaired at some point, this may be why it has a salvage title but I'm not sure how things work in California. Some of the wood grain vinyl sticker stuff on the drivers side door is pealing off, pretty easy fix, I was going to replace with black but thought I would let new owner decide what they like best. The AC is all there and hooked up but the compressor makes a knocking noise when it runs, so I unhooked the wire so it wouldn't come on. Heat and fan work fine. The title I have is the California Salvage title, it is signed. I never titled it in my name as this varies from state to state on cars this old. I can give you this title for you to transfer and also give you a bill of sale which some states require. I do not know why this car has a salvage title as its in better shape than many new cars, I was told here in TN that all I had to do is take pictures of all 4 sides of the car in order to get a new title issued but here it was no problem getting it registered and getting tags here. This will really make someone a nice car, you can drive it anywhere and take it to all the car shows. It rides as smooth as silk on the hwy and is a very well built car. I have enjoyed it and hope the new owner likes it as much as I have. Like I said earlier I just need the space for a new project. This car is also for sale locally. Shipping or delivery is buyers responsibility. $500 deposit due at auction close via Paypal, balance when you pick up car cash only If you have no feedback or bad feedback don't bid thanks for looking! On Jul-17-15 at 09:37:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Had a question about the mileage - I cannot confirm that the number shown on the odometer is accurate or not. However I have been driving and restoring AMC cars for over 30 years and based on condition of engine, suspension parts, bushings and other wearable parts I feel very confident this is accurate as everything looks awesome to be nearly 50 years old, almost amazingly so. Please feel free to message me for any additional pictures of particular areas of the car, thanks On Jul-18-15 at 19:55:10 PDT, seller added the following information: https://youtu.be/E1aTAYWadXMOn Jul-22-15 at 07:09:44 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE ON TITLE!!! - Ok so just got back from the DMV and I now have this all worked out. The previous CA title was not SALVAGE but SALVAGED, apparently the "D" makes a big difference as in CA the terminology is different than here in TN. I submitted pics of the car in its pristine condition and we spoke to someone at the capitol and submitted all the paperwork and in a few days I will have a new TN title in my name!! The new title will have REBUILT stamped on it as no one seems to know when or what happened in the last 50 years and that's the states rule on out of state transfers with the "D" on there. All I know is TODAY the car is near perfect and could be driven to California from here if needs be. Special thanks to Connie at the Coffee County TN DMV. So I have all the paperwork and copies of everything and will be able to provide a BILL OF SALE, receipt and a TN title in my name to the new owner (in few days once the state mails it to me) thanks!
