Vehicle Detail
Hey everyone, I'm looking to sell my '02 1.8t Jetta I bought last summer. It has 138k on the odometer. AC, Loaded, Leather, Power everything except seats, non-smokers car. Still has 100% of all the original trim pieces. I've only driven the car for about 2 months. It hasn't been the kindest car to me after much TLC put into it on my end. Purchased it with a bad motor mount, shocks and brakes. Replaced everything I could in it without touching the transmission which is the main issue. I've just hit a wall with repairs and losses and just life in general and I'd really like to start over fresh. Whats Wrong:Transmission. Goes into lag mode and shifts hard when it wants (huge issue with this model I'm to understand.) which has led to:Motor Mount. I've replaced this once before and in less than a month it was ruined again, which has led to:Flex Pipe. Ripped in half from the drivetrain moving around so much and included in the damage from the motion:Radiator. Hole was punched in it on a trip to get some other things repaired. Basically this was the nail in the coffin. I hit my financial wall and parked the car in hopes to sell it upon returning from traveling the country. During that time away from home: Key. Key was lost in a move and I have since learned that the cost for that is not good unless you have a VW Dealer parts guy who has the hook up. I know nobody wants to take a chance on a car that you can't start, but the car ran great. I've taken it all the way to Vermont down to Florida in the time it was functioning. Moisture. There is some moisture in the cabin, a dehumidifier could solve this very easily.Cosmetic damage: Passenger side front and rear bumper/fender have scratches/small dents (see photos)Almost all of these are simple fixes if you have the time, money and energy into fixing them. Whats GoodCar had been fully tuned up before being parked I have replaced a few parts on the car including:New Coil PackNew O2 SensorNew front tires with less thank 2k on them. Mounted/Balanced and Aligned. New shocksNew front brakesNew FiltersNew Coolant Flange was replaced after leak was discovered.Fully functional 6 speaker Harmon-Kardon system. As I mentioned before the car has all of the original components in the cab. Including functional in dash cup holders and arm rest. I also have a lot of history for the vehicle and manual and clean title. The car was and still is super clean and ran well outside of the transmission slipping. I almost had every light off on the dash until the radiator went. No strange noises, No knocking or pinging or anything crazy. It just needs the parts listed above to make this one super clean ride or it can be parted out for the many intact items that it contains. I am just asking for the base of what i've invested into this project and that is $1,500 and I hope it goes to someone that cares about cars and will appreciate it for what it is and could be. Thank you for your time and consideration. Any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
